fewd90week1's Introduction

Homework 1 - Personal Website

Create an About Me and Resume

You will create a two-page website for yourself.

Step 1 - Fork this repository.

From the assignment homepage (https://github.com/fewd90nyc/fewd90week1), click the "Fork" link on the top right. This will create a copy of the assignment in YOUR github account.

Step 2 - Clone your forked repository.

From the repository homepage (which will be http://github.com/YOURUSERNAME/fewd90week1), click on green "Clone or Download" button and "Open in Desktop". This should open your Github Desktop App and prompt you to save the fewd90week1 folder on your computer. Decide on a place on your computer where you want to store all of your assignments. I suggest creating a FEWD90Homework folder or similar in your Documents or on your Desktop.

Step 3 - Build!

Create your index.html and resume.html files. Then, write plain text for the content and mark it up, utilizing all of the tags we've learned this week: <h1> through <h6>, <p>, <a>, <img>, <ul>

Add CSS styles, an image, and link the two pages together.

Use Wendy Bite’s website as a guide, but feel free to branch-out or get as creative as your current skills allow.

Step 4 - Commit and Sync

This step is confusing. You can work on your website locally and view it in the browser by opening your index.html file. Before you can submit your assignment, though, you will need to "Commit" and "Sync" your site at least one time. This process takes the changes you've made on your computer and sends them to github.com. We will walk through this process together.

Step 5 - Submit

Once you are happy with your website (and you've done Step 4), you will send a "Pull Request". This process creates an alert which tells us you are "done" with your forked code and that we can review. We will walk through this process together at the start of class in Week 2. In the future, this should be done before the Tuesday class starts.
