analog-pi's Issues

Proportional VGA calibration

Hi,

Our group bought ~10 JQI pi controller v2.5.3 and I'm trying to go through the Initial Calibrations and Tests on p. 14 of the manual. However, I encounter difficulties in the Proportional VGA calibration part.

For step 11 and 12, U9-Pin10 and POT2 are inaccessible once all the front panel controls are connected to the board. I tried connecting the PCB with U9 and POT2 to the board with cables instead, which makes U9 and POT2 accessible. However, the cable connections are not quite reliable given the number of Molex connectors I need to make. Thus, I'm wondering if there's an easier way to access U9 and POT2 once everything is assembled.

Thanks a lot!

INPUT OFFSET en/dis jumper on the board

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the help with the connectors last time! Sorry I have another question. So, we ordered 10 jqi lockboxes in total. When I was building them, 3 of them broke.

For the first one, the OUTPUT OFFSET cannot adjust the OUTPUT MONITOR at the unlock mode. However, the HIGH LIMIT is able to decrease the OUTPUT MONITOR readings. For the second one, the OUTPUT OFFSET again could not adjust the OUTPUT MONITOR at the unlock mode. And, the HIGH LIMIT cannot decrease the OUTPUT MONITOR readings either. For the first two boards, the boards get really hot when plugged in.

For the third one, most things are correct. However, at the Proportional VGA calibration step, the POT1 (P_VGA_IN_TRIM) cannot adjust the output of VGA(U9-PIN10). And for the square wave reference test, increasing P_GAIN cannot smooth the transition edge.

We think the three boards broke because the jumper for INPUT OFFSET was not connected initially (which is not indicated in the manual!) or was badly made. To fix the boards, we try measuring the voltage at the 4 regulators, which function properly as the PI_Schematic indicates. Sorry for asking. But, do you have any ideas how we might be able to fix it? And whether the jumper is really the problem?

PI_NC_Drill.drl file is not included in analog-pi/pi/Design/Gerber/ folder

I am building the PI Lockbox, currently I am in the stages of building the PCBs with a PCB company. There is one file that looks like it is missing from the pi/Design/Gerber/ folder that we will need to fully build these PCBs. LayerMap.txt lists PI_NC_Drill.drl as a file for the PI PCB, but it seems to be missing from the Gerber folder.
