The file was trying to download with java but could not open cause that is not the right installer program
when i open the installer it just reinstalls the installer
It seems to be a common enough issue, but when I downloaded the file, I couldn't get it to open with Java at first. I figured out how to do that, and now it all it does is pull up a command prompt for a split of a second and then do absolutely nothing after that.
Iris Shaders is an open source alternative to OptiFine based on Fabric. The fact that it's open source, allows it to be updated very rapidly. I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea to create a Vivecraft flavour based on IrisShaders and perhaps even full Fabric integration
Tried 1.18.2 and 1.17.1 with java 16 17 and 18, ends up showing the same error.

this is not a steam vr issue, when i go in steam vr home, my controllers work fine, but when in vivecraft, controllers are unable to move
It says unable to install java there are errors in the following switches. It shows the version I'm trying to install but it says check that commands are valid and try again. Any fix?
Me and my friend tried to download and couldnt. We could install 1.16.5 tho.
The problem is that its not installing, insteed it stands that i have to select a file/program to open it with.
It would be nice to have normal movement HMD-based, but elytra movement hand-based. I believe boats already do this, but don't have an option for it.
ManyMC is a fork of MultiMC optimised for apple's M1 processors. Adding support for it would enable the installer to install to it.
I have been using this VR plug-in for 2 years, there should be no problem with installation, now 1.16.5 can be used normally.
1.17.1, 1.18.1, 1.18.2 didn't load properly, only 1.16.5 did, Java 17 and 18 were tried, initiator HCML and pcl2 were tried.

The game seems to stutter a lot- I am not certain, but it appears as if the game is rapidly alternating between two frames for a second in what I assume is a lag spike. This would be fine if not for the fact that this is VR, and it is EXTREMELY nauseating.
I played the latest 1.17.1 release and had no such issues.
Specs: Oculus Rift, i7 6700, GTX 1070, 32gb ram (2gb allocated)
SteamVR and MultiMC
when i press open it shows me the note pad of the installer instead of the installer

When launching the game using Vivecraft 1.18, then loading the latest SEUS PTGI shaderpack (E12 and HRR Test 2.1), the game suddenly crashes after trying to apply the shader.
Is the support for 1.18.2 planned? Is there an expected timeline?

For all the left-handers out there! have you ever noticed your shield on backwards and its just sad to see? Well I have and I just wanna bring attention to this problem and maybe the creators of vivecraft can fix it? I just wanna be more immersed in the game without these weird little oofs like when my hands were upside down but I fixed it. The last little problem I got is when I mine, swing, interact with stuff like opening doors the wrong hand does the movement to open/close said door but I still use the left hand to click the button.
So yeah this is just a small problem that maybe only I am experiencing or its just that minor but I wanna just try to bring everything to the table and not just the big stuff.

The walk-in-place controls seem to be reversed. holding the left trigger causes you to walk backward and using the thumbstick is inverted.
The diamond blocks are only colored on one side and do not drop diamonds when mined with an Iron Pick. I have tried building two worlds and after hours of game play in each world I am not able to mine diamonds.

When I launch vivecraft on the minecraft launcher in my oculus quest 2 through virtual desktop it loads up steam vr to play the game. Once it loads up I can see the Vr headset and controllers interacting with vivecraft on my computer but in the Quest 2 it says that it is waiting for "javaw". Is there a fix for this?
i watched 4 tutorials on how to download this mod but everytime it doesn´t include my issue
because an .jar isn´t an java program and it doesn´t launch if i change it to an .exe it says that my computer can´t handle it and that i must ask the developer if it is for my pc but i know my pc can handle it because i can play 1.16.5 so i don´t know what i must do
as it is in alpha I don't expect it to work but i wanted to see if it did but it fails to launch even the slightest i tried 3 different machines with my vive it just sends me the generic exit code 0 as i assume since there is no forge running currently nor does it recognize that the vr headset albeit i have on when i am using ovr or just scrolling with steam to launch it with it on still nothing keep working hard on this you got this!!! @jrbudda @Techjar #1 #2 but it's happening with htc vive pro

The .jar file makes it unable to download for me and many of my friends.

Changing the mirror option in-game doesn't change the actual desktop mirror.
I first booted it up with mirror off and found that it wouldn't turn on when changing the setting.
I then selected third person, then reopened the game. When I loaded into a world and went to check my desktop mirror, it was stuck on the loading screen still.
This is when I did some searching online for any other reports of this and then when I went back to check the mirror, it was completely black.
When on the third person option in-game, the camera model and the view next to it was rendering as expected. Just not the what was shown on my desktop.
While using the Non-VR Companion on a paper server utilising the vivecraft spigot extension, a very annoying issue occurs. Took a while to figure out, but I realised that if I leave a block semi-mined, my ability to interact or do any right-click function is disabled until that block or another block is mined. I recorded a gif of me trying to use my shield whilst a block is semi broken. May you please look into this? I'm pushing for everyone on my server to use the companion, and I don't think they'll be too willing if this is happening.
I have no idea if this is the right place where to ask in the first place, but when trying to apply for the Italian translation of the project on Transifex it doesn't appear on the dropdown menu.
I know for sure that it is a requested language as I checked the list, but for whatever reason I can't apply.
Any reason for that or is it just a bug?

I am a map maker and would love to create VR Minecraft maps but getting tracking data accessible via the command block system is the main limitation
suggestion on implementation.
Have a marker entity that locked to the cords of the tracker with NBT data of rotation, buttons states with tags "left-controller" "right-controller" "tracker-left-foot" "tracker-right-foot" "tracker-hip"
It would allow for some powerful map-making as well as map making development.
I am on laptop and a black screen with a error pops up saying I need to force my graphics up, can anyone tell me how to do that or send a video to solve this on windows 10?
Im using multimc, and im using mods other than optifine like sodium, iris, and a ton of performance mods. I would like to use them with non-vr, but it auto installs optifine. Is optifine required for vivecraft to work, or is there a way to remove optifine from the installation? Also, does it work with fabric?
Is there anyway to install without Optifine? And please don't tell me it's needed for FPS, there are much better mods I'm trying to use that are incompatible, and I just want the answer. Thanks!
The file downloads as a .jar file and I want to extract it to the exe so I can play 1.18 vivecraft but It doesnt seem to work. I may be doing something wrong but im not sure
Title is self explanatory - forcing HTTPS shows an invalid certificate error, which, when ignored, provides a page saying "stuff coming soon", indicating that TLS has not been set up.
Using a service like Cloudflare would result in free TLS provided you proxy traffic through them.
Otherwise, a paid certificate service like Digicert could offer a TLS certificate that you can deploy on your server.
Either way, I'd strongly suggest using TLS, since, provided an attacker performs a MitM (Man in the Middle) attack and alters the download link (possible on a vanilla HTTP connection similar to the one the site currently uses), you could end up having your site serve malware.
Additionally, using HTTP should redirect to the HTTPS variant once HTTPS is implemented.
