extend-panel-menu's Issues

TypeError in network.js

Typically see errors like this after resuming from sleep:

Jan 24 13:48:13 ollie-XPS gnome-shell[17819]: message repeated 10 times:
[ JS ERROR: TypeError: this._scrollView.vscroll is null#012WirelessList<._resortItems@/home/ollie/.local/share/gnome-shell

gnome-shell/extensions/extend-panel-menu@julio641742/indicators/network.js:599:13#012wrapper@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/_legacy.js:82:22]

Get a lot of logging like this afterwards, I assume it is related:

Jan 24 13:40:34 ollie-XPS gnome-shell[17819]: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to 'ClutterText'
Jan 24 13:40:34 ollie-XPS gnome-shell[17819]: clutter_text_get_editable: assertion 'CLUTTER_IS_TEXT (self)' failed

Player controls not showing up

Sometimes when using Spotify the player controls don't show in the sound indicator and sometimes they do. Could you look into this? I have no idea how to debug this.

Ubuntu 17.04

Gnome Shell 3.24.2

Notification indicator not changing

Whenever there's a notification pop up the icon doesn't change if the pop up is left alone. I've let a bunch of notifications through without clicking them to test and the indicator doesn't change to signify a missed notification.

Not Spotify, Discord, or KDE Connect.

Switch notifications icon if there's some notifications

I don't know if it's possible to know if there's any notification not read yet, if so it would be great to switch the icons
You can use those icons
https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme/blob/master/Numix/scalable/status/notifications-symbolic.svg
https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme/blob/master/Numix/scalable/status/notification-new-symbolic.svg
as a fallback if the theme doesn't have them (which is the case on Adwaita)

Issue with Gnome extension TopIcons Plus

The TopIcons Plus extension doesn't respect the layout and puts icons in the middle of indicators. Only changing the layout or restarting the gnome shell does it move to the left of the sound indicator.

topicons plus

Note: Icons on the left side of the sound indicator are handled by KStatus and work properly.

Edit: I forgot you could set where to put them in the options. My bad.

Sound indicator useless menu entry

From what I can tell the Spotify entry doesn't do anything and closes when clicking the minus button. Happens with VLC as well.

Icon for volume control sometimes disappears

The icon for volume control sometimes disappears from the panel:
screenshot1
Once I press Fn-F10/11/12 for volume control, the icon appears again:
screenshot2
So everything works in principle.

I am using Ubuntu Gnome 17.04.

Incompatible with Dash-to-Panel (show desktop button)

When using this extention with Dash-to-panel, if i set dash to panel to show the "show desktop button", the button shows fine first, but then, after the screen turns off and back on, the show desktop button is moved to the left of extend-panel-menu ... check the screenshots:

Moves calendar icon from centre

I prefer to have the calendar at the centre of the top bar, but this extension moves it to the right. Any way to avoid this?

Version # and Update Available

I had problem with the extend-panel-menu. It crashed GNOME Shell, It made the speaker icon disappear. And notifications didn't show up under that icon. So I downloaded the github code and installed it. It seems to have solved most of the above problems (still testing). But GNOME now keeps telling me that an update is available. I can't find a version # anywhere. So how does it know that there's an update available? How can I stop the notification, as I have the latest version, I think.

View list of networks to connect to when clicking on the network indicator

When you click on the icon, you can open a drop down menu for location settings, but network settings takes you to an application rather than acting as a drop down menu as well. Would be more convenient if this was designed like that.

Edit: a feature would be nice to see a drop down list of available wifi hotspots to connect to.

Allow Reordering

Any chance of adding a config menu with an option to reorder the new panel menus? For example, I like my clock at the center of the panel and would put sound, internet and battery on the far right. Thanks for the great extension!

Battery percentage next to power icon

I can enable the battery percentage via gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface show-battery-percentage true. In the default topbar on GNOME, this works just fine. However, when I enable extend-panel-menu, the above percentage is hidden.

Offset icons is broken.

Offset between calendar and power indicator very small (here will notification icon).

Offset between Wifi and BT icon is broken, and jump from very big to gigant.

Brightness/Power indicator problem at start

I reinstalled it today to see if translation was in. It's not. I'll wait :)

However I think there is an old bug that you solved in 5.0 :

  • when gnome shell starts the brightness icon is displayed in place of the battery in my laptop, and it have not power options. If I open the extension settings to disable and re-enable again the brightness indicator, I can see my battery and power options too.

Icons and calendar disappear when resuming

Hi, I'm using this extension(latest commit) with Gnome 3.24, tried with both a vanilla Gnome Shell and with dash to panel. After resuming the laptop (or unlocking the session) all of the icons - volume, network, etc... - and calendar disappear. I have to restart Gnome Shell to make them appear everytime.
