ankermake-m5-profile's Issues

GH Repo Setting cleanup

This repo is missing several things:

  • no description set
  • projects and gh actions are still turned on
  • a Prusa and Cura issue/PR tag would be nice to have

default temperature hidden by the active machine / profile

First of all thank you for the awesome profile for the M5!

I have a question / an issue regarding the default printing temperature. When I use different materials from the menu with different settings the default temperature should be inherited from the material settings. Unfortunatelly Cura displays a message that the default temperature is hidden by the active machine (the M5) and so the default temperature doesn't update from the selected material. (screenshot attached)

Is it possible to activate the default temperature in the M5 profile so that it is no longer hidden by the active machine? Thanks for your reply / fix!

Q: Cura base plate obscuring underside

If I twist the view around in AnkerMake I can see the bottom of the print, but I can't do the same in Cura as it just shows the printbed model with the anker logo/grid. Is this expected?

I wonder if a version with only top faces might be better so it isn't rendered when viewed from underneath

Nozzle over-primed just before print starts

Due to a fix for an old homing behavior, the nozzle spits out a fat glob of filament just before a print starts. Reccomend removing the over-retraction fix in start g-code section.

Significand amount of filament shows up as "unknown" type when imported into AnkerMake slicer

I've tried to use PrusaSlicer to slice models for my Ankermake M5, using the profiles supplied here.

In the process, I've noticed that the following categories of gcode seem to register as "unknown" in AnkerMake:

  • Overhang perimeter
  • Top solid infill
  • Bridge infill
  • Skirt/Brim

For illustration, view in prusaslicer, with only the mentioned types showing:

View in AnkerMake, with only the "unknown" type showing:

Since AnkerMake is (so far) the easiest way to send jobs to the printer, it would be nice if the preview version was free of "unknown", although it doesn't seem to be a dealbreaker for printing.

I can help debug this further, if needed.

Settings change in GCODE

Thanks for this project its been great but one thing i notice is that settings change from the Slice to the GCODE.

So i create a Slice with a speed untouched at 250mm and when printing it says print speed exceeds the printer 300mm but this also changes its not always 300mm

also the print temp I have changed to 190 and it tells the printer to heat to 195

has anyone else experienced this?

Cant not see new printer to add

I have copied the files required as per instructions in to the profile folder however it wont see them and does not show me anything in Cura. what am i doing wrong?

TPU/FLEX Profile

Love this profile! Slicing with this produces much nicer results than using AnkerMake's slicer.

Any chance someone could contribute a Generic FLEX or Generic TPU filament profile? I tried copying Prusa's Generic FLEX filament profile into AnkerMake.ini, but after slicing it always shows 0 grams of filament used in the Tool view.

For now I'll just keep slicing TPU prints in AnkerMake, but any help getting it working in PrusaSlicer would be appreciated!

Speed settings did not translate

I set a print in Cura to have a speed setting of 50mm/s but when it got imported into AnkerMake it had a speed of well over 300mm/s

The speed estimate in Cura was about 20 hrs but when I changed the AnkerMake printer to really print at 50mm/s the new time estimate was over 122 hours

What about SuperSlicer

the Profile works fine in PrusaSlicer, but SuperSlicer creates an error on Startup: Preset bundle AnkerMake version not found in index: 0.1.0
