That's the first question I had in mind after reading the Readme.

PHP 5.3 or greater is required to run the project. If you want a quick way to run the docs locally without having to setup WAMP, MAMP or some other type of local server then you can use the optional Grunt.js command which uses the web server that is built into PHP 5.4 to host the docs on your local machine. This is really only intended be used when you are writing/updating a ton of docs and want to preview the changes locally.

I'm sorry, I misinterpreted this project, I thought you only used php to run a server (of which I thought could easily be done by nodejs itself) but after browsing through your codebase I notice the converting and reading of the markdown files is all written in php, naturally you'd want to run that on a php server.
