More Calculations based on Signalk Plugin

Hi! First of all, I appreciate your work to bring the community the awesome plugin for Avnav.
There is a plugging for signalk that makes calculations based on data (the same way that you do). Some of the calculations are not in the Avnav plugin.

The plugin worked but now it doesn't work anymore and I get the message: "system-Sail_Instrument'Plugin' object has no attribute 'variation'"

How to resolve the problem?

Another question. I use avnav with signalk for data acquisition. The display of the plugins does not seem to work if I do not also send the information in UDP nmea. However, with only the signalk connection, it calculates the derived data well.

Hallo kd,

ich habe in AVNAV das Problem das die eingehenden NMEA-Daten (per USB-NMEA-Adapter) nach dem Start des Raspberrys anfangs noch synchron angezeigt werden, je länger der Raspi aber läuft desto verzögert/zeitversetzt werden die Daten in AVNAV angezeigt. Nach einigen Stunden Laufzeit hat man schon 1-2Std. Zeitverzögerung. Wenn man im Hafen festgemacht hat, dann läuft das Boot auf der Karte in AVNAV noch munter weiter bis es dann irgendwann auch im Hafen ankommt. Es sind alle NMEA-Daten betroffen.
Meine verbauten NMEA-Instrumente zeigen aber immer die aktuellen NMEA-Daten live an. Es liegt also nicht an der NMEA-Schnittstelle.

Sobald ich das builtin-sailinstrument in AVNAV deaktiviere laufen die NMEA-Daten in AVNAV wieder live und synchron. Es liegt irgendwie an dem Plugin.

Hast du eine Idee wie das zusammenhängen könnte?

ausrichtung HDG vs COG

Danke, geniales Teil!

Ich hab das mal ausprobiert und es scheint so, dass der rot/grüne Ring seinen Nullpunkt (Orientierung) am COG ausrichtet. Ich hätte erwartet, dass der Ring am HDG (heading, Vorrausrichtung) ausgerichtet ist. Der orange Marker sollte am COG ausgerichtet sein, die Zahl in dem Kasten sollte true HDG anzeigen. Oder fehlen mir irgendwelchen in AvNav? HDG und COG sind eigentliche beide vorhanden, AvNav zeigt die beiden Linien auch entsprechend an.

Extending Polare

Is it possible to extend the polare.xml with more wind speeds and angles?

From for example:
[4,6,8,10,12,14,16,20,25,30]
[32,36,40,45,52,60,70,80,90,100,110,120,135,150,160,170,180]

To:
[4,6,8,10,12,14,16,20,25,30,60]
[32,36,40,45,52,60,70,80,90,100,110,120,130,140,150,160,170,180]

I understand that if you do the boatspeed table, upwind and downwind has to be extended.

Die App soll den Wind und die Shift beobachten und Vorhersagen für den optimalen Zeitpunkt zum Wenden machen. Klingt interessant, oder? Sowas könnte man auch probieren zu bauen?

Weiterhin Darstellung interessant. Das Polardiagram wird auch angezeigt.

Error in Avnav log file

Hi,
The log file of Avnav filled up 8GB of memory in 6 hours up to the point where the memory was full.
It writes an error up to 6 times per milliseconds, here it is:

Hi CPU load w/o NMEA data

Hi,
I want to hint at an potential issue that I encountered: after installing a completely new image from avnav on a Rasperry 4 and directly afterwards updating all plugins with the updater-plugin as well as installing the more-Sail_Instruments-plugin at home w/o any NMEA data available, the CPU load of one of the 4 cores of the Raspberry jumped to 100% and stayed there for 12++ hours. It went down again after disabling the plugin.
Maybe there could be a small function that pauses the plugin or puts it in an error state when there are no NMEA data available and prevent a permanent 100% CPU load?
Just a hint - maybe there is reason to this... thanks and best greetings

Du hast die Dokumentation erweitert und ins Wiki verschoben. 👍

Das Wiki hat leider den Nachteil, dass man keine pull requests machen kann. Und die Bilder, die Wiki referenziert werden, liegen ja auch noch im eigentlichen Projekt.

Wie wäre es, statt des Wikis einen doc Ordner mit den entsprechenden Markdown Files und Images im Projekt selbst zu haben? Dann funktionieren auch pull requests.

Ich wollte noch die theoretischen Grundlagen der Berechnungen beschreiben, was auch für SignalK interessant sein kann (#20).
