LogScrobbler unable to launch at all - could be problem with recent .NET updates?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch logscrobber.exe

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Logscrobbler is supposed to load. Instead I get this error and no main
window:

"LogScrobbler has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the
information you were working on might be lost". It has two buttons, Debug
and Close. Clicking Debug shows this:
"An unhandled exception ('System.Security.SecurityException') occurred in
LogScrobbler.exe [4644]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed
with the following error: No installed debugger ... "

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.15 on Windows XP Professional SP2

Please provide any additional information below.
LogScrobbler used to work. I get this error *immediately* I try to launch
logscrobbler.exe (no dialog appears, the only thing I get is the error
popup). This occurs whether or not any device is plugged in.
My computer is setup to autoupdate via Microsoft Update - and I recall
seeing .NET updates recently..

Unable to connect to the remote server

I'm just moving to a new machine running Windows 7 64-bit and every time I try
to submit my logs I get the error

(logs below)

I've checked my password multiple times and tried disabling my firewall but to
no effect

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Nothing to sync, or there was an error connecting to Last.fm

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hit the go button and try to sync
2. After a short delay program reports "Nothing to sync, or there was an
error connecting to Last.fm"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should sync because there are about 20-30 songs in the list. And I have
not scrobbed from my computer since using the ipod.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.14 windows xp pro

Please provide any additional information below.
I also tried the fix zero time stamp thing.

Submitting data that includes ö, ä or å in it have ö, ä or Ã¥ instead.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Submitting data including ö, ä or å.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Data that have ö, ä or å in it have ö, ä or Ã¥ instead. In
Logscrobbler
it shows the correct letters in the list where you can choose the tracks to
scrobble, but when submitted to last.fm it changes.
Example: Submitting data about band called Rytmihäiriö. When scrobbled to
last.fm it shows that the name is Rytmihäiriö.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using version 0.15 of Logscrobbler on Windows Vista.

Please provide any additional information below.
Not big problem, but annoying, becouse i am listening lot of finnish music
that includes those letters.

Unicode troubles

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open .scrobbler.log file
2. submit data

All non-latin titles becomes broken, seems it double converts into utf8.
For example, instead of "Мезаммо" last.fm see
езаммо. My file
.scrobbler.log doen't have a BOM. All data displayed ok in preview table
("Select tracks To Scrobble" feature), but after submit it recoded.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
LogScrobbler-0.15 with DotNet2.0, Windows XP SP2 Russian VL

Please provide any additional information below.

Storing passwords in plaintext

Storing passwords in plaintext is not best solution.
Could you use some .Net libraries to encrypt password before saving it to
"LogScrobbler.txt" and decrypt after reading?

Incorrect timezone of submitted scrobbles

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rockbox log file for iPod video
2. Upload to last.fm
3. All times are off by 4 hours (I'm in Eastern time zone)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
All the time-stamps sent to last.fm were 4 hours in the past. I'm in Eastern
time zone.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
I think the program is assuming that all the timestamps are UTC time instead of
local time. Most other tools let you select the timezone while this tool does
not.

were features merged unnecessarily?

In version 0.14 there were separate features for "fix zero timestamps" and
for "submit just after most recent tracks". these seem to have been
merged, but why? they did two separate things, and were useful in separate
situations. in 0.15, now i'm not sure *what* the client will do with my
timeless logs, if anything.
