dotcommon's Issues

No such file or directory: 'token.gh'

Not sure if I am using the scripts correctly, but when I run bspwm.py it gives me the error :FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'token.gh'. Also, what is the proper way to run your scripts ?

Count custom functions in vimrc

I saw a post on Reddit (perhaps) where the author crawled how many custom functions people, on average, are having in their vimrcs. I think that would be a cool stat. to have. It may also push Vim users to use Vimscript more often and define functions according to their needs.

bash_profile not counted

Many macOS terminal.app users store their bash config. in the .bash_profile file, therefore in my opinion bash_profile should be included in bash results.

Add zsh

add crawling for zsh configs.
Because zsh is often used by people who customize their linux.

Take nonstandard filenames into account

Some people put configurations that apply to both zsh and bash into separate files, and source these from both shells' configuration. One example is .config/aliasrc in Luke Smith's voidrice repo.

Solution 1: follow source and . statements in shell config files. This would not work if the repo root does not correspond to the home directory, as described in #11.

Solution 2: track filenames commonly used for this purpose, i.e. aliasrc, aliases etc. This would be easier to accomplish.

Search for config files in subdirectories

Using GNU stow is a somewhat common way for managing dotfiles in a modular way, as used by me. This usually means that for each application, a separate directory is created, and their contents get symlinked to the root directory.

One solution is to look for the files of interest recursively, or at least in the first level subdirctories. I suppose we could also grep each file and attempt to classify whether an alias is used in zsh or bash based on filename.
