I think at this stage this is the highest priority.

I'm happy to do my part. Can you help in terms of getting a kiwix-lib
package so we don't need to also build it?

@julianharty I think the nightly builds/CI should compile everything statically in the so file. Like for kiwix-tools for example. It might take a few months before we get a deb package of kiwix-lib. For now, nobody is working on the RPM.

By should do you mean it does? today? I ask as I can't find anything that seems appropriate.
http://download.kiwix.org/nightly/2017-05-18/ is the last that has what might be all the nightly files successfully build. Of these the only one that I thought might have the library is kiwix-tools however it doesn't. Also, last night's nightly is empty as is http://download.kiwix.org/nightly/latest/ (presumably as it's currently pointing to yesterday's folder).
If you could provide a link to somewhere on download.kiwix.org (or similar) where I can obtain a viable kiwix-lib then I'm happy to incorporate it, either dynamically if the link is suitable (e.g. if it points to a 'latest' folder that'll have the library reliably) or statically (where I can add the library file into this codebase and use it each time kiwix-android is built).
Thank you.

@julianharty The kiwix-lib is not provided but all the rest should and is compiled staticaly so far. The only use case where it should not is in the case the CI builds a package IMO.
That said, temporary compiled libraries (including kiwix-lib) are available here:

The project is stalled since many years and has not reached the v1.0. Archiving the project. Please contact @julianharty if you are interested to work on the project.
