System is WINXP SP3 / Python 2.7.2

I can confirm this on Windows 7 x64 as well.
In fact I was unable to get the grid to show again until restarting.

If you squeeze the grid down until it disappears, you should get a division by zero error

This has been fixed, and mini mode was subsequently removed.
