I built the gem and ran tests locally for ruby 2.6.1p33 (2019-01-30 revision 66950) [x64-mingw32] and i386-mingw32. All tests passed with no modification necessary.

PR #47 fixes this issue, it just needs merged

Presently in lieu of changes upstream, anyone that is having an issue with this can refer to this post on potential work arounds
