A collection repository of Warhammer 40k faction indices. These .txt files can be imported into the popular web application UnitCrunch where you can simulate your chances of vaporizing a band of Orks or tickling a Dreadnought.

UnitCrunch-data-exports

A collection repository of Warhammer 40k factions. These .txt files are Data Exports that can be imported into the popular web application UnitCrunch.

General Information

Each directory contains the following:

  • .txt Data Export (import file for UnitCrunch)
  • Changlog.md record of changes
  • readme.md Information about the upload file(s)

Once you have imported the Data Export the profile will need to be configured by yourself. This will generally just be changing the Model count and the weapons Count per unit, but some profiles will need more configuration this is usually documented in the readme.md of that faction.

Contributing

If you wish to contribute please read the contributing.md, here we outline the file structure and formatting that can streamline creating the readme.md. There are also quick start templates in the Templates directory.

Brutalis Dreadnought - Brutalis Charge ability doesn't work

Brutalis Charge ability is implemented as a melee weapon with N/A weapon skill. As a result, it never hits.
Can be fixed by adding "Always hits"/"TORRENT" ability to this weapon.

Probably applicable to other non-attack damage abilities, I didn't check.

Oath of Moment suggestion

While using unitcrunch with this dataset, I found current Oath of Moment implementation slightly cumbersome:

  • when I want to compare two attacking units, I have to check if they have the same Oath of Moment settings
  • it bloats unit profile page and may reach technical limits for some units / collections(?)

I suggest moving it to the Global Modifiers section. I've tried it this way and it worked fine for me.
Besides, I've implemented Armour of contempt in the same section, so I can recreate different combat scenarios from one panel.

Rename repo

"Indices" might have been a little short-sighted? :)

Suggestion: "UnitCrunch-data-exports" (changed to capital "C" while I'm at it).

I'd avoid "profiles", "datasheets", "units" etc as the UC data export will likely contain more than this in the future (e.g. custom global modifiers, custom tagging etc).

Gladiator Lancer - Aquilon Optics abitlity

The profile doesn't include this ability:

Aquilon Optics: 
Each time this model is selected to shoot, you can re-roll one Hit roll, 
you can re-roll one Wound roll and you can re-roll one Damage roll when resolving its attacks.

Afaik one cannot implement it correctly, but adding 1 re-roll of everything to the main gun should be a good approximation.

That's my take on how Lancer laser destroyer may work:

Techmarines - Vengeance of the Omnissiah ability not implemented

Vengeance of the Omnissiah: 
If a friendly Adeptus Astartes Vehicle model is destroyed within 12" of this model, 
until the end of the battle, this model’s Omnissian power axe has an Attacks characteristic of 7.

Vengeance of the Omnissiah ability of Primaris Techmarine and Techmarine is not implemented. One can do it as an additional melee weapon profile, similar to Techmarine's Servo-arm.

Primaris Captain - Finest Hour ability (and similar)

Finest Hour: 
Once per battle, at the start of the Fight phase, this model can use this ability. 
If it does, until the end of the phase, add 3 to the Attacks characteristic of melee weapons 
equipped by this model and those weapons have the [DEVASTATING WOUNDS] ability.

Currently, it is implemented as 3 extra attacks (melee only) (if attacker) profile ability.
Unfortunately, instead of adding three attacks for selected profile it quadruples number of attacks. Essentially, every attack generates three more.
This is incorrect and very misleading, please at least remove this ability.

I don't know what could be a fix here. Probably, add multiple melee weapons like Finest Hour - extra attacks for Master-crafted power weapon.

Impulsor - wrong T and W

First of all, thank you so much for the work!

Impulsor stats a wrong - it shows T11 and W9, should be T9 W11.
