kitt's Issues

Support the removal of operators from a repository

Currently, kitt update will only add packages to an existing repository. Removing packages can only be done by creating a new repository, not by updating an existing one. Let's find a solution for removing packages from an existing repository.

Validate that referenced versions match with actual package versions

When describing an operator package, the version field has to be set. This is helpful to provide intend and for debugging purposes, but also redundant, because it is also provided by the referenced operator package. We should validate that the version field matches the version provided by the operator package one that package has been resolved.

Old Operators can not be added because of too strict validation

Tried to add kafka operator 1.2.0 - It didn't work because the validator runs too many strict checks.

Additionally, when we add new validations in KUDO it might happen that existing entries in the index do not pass these new validations - the should still be added to the index on a rebuild.

So we need either a "skipValidation" or "validationLevel" or "kudoValidationVersion" that can execute the KUDO package validation with the correct KUDO version...
