Summary

Compatible with c and c++. A network abstraction layer for connection-based UDP messaging. Send unreliable packets (standard UDP), and reliable packets (guaranteed to be recieved, once, and in order).

Requirements

1. A working c++17 (or higher) compiler.
2. CMake version 3.7 or higher

Steps

1. Clone the repository with git clone https://github.com/kyy13/udp-connect
2. Run cmake with DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release to generate the build files
3. Run make to build

Allow binding of N IPv4 ports and M IPv6 ports

Handle disconnecting and reconnecting

require 2way

add option to force 2way connection before receiving messages in the event processor.

this means server doesn't need to store reliable states for unconnected clients.

also reliable state can be an int8_t

Create IPv4 and IPv6 formats that can be converted to/from string rather than supply a string to socket sender/receiver.

Investigate connecting with getaddrinfo()

read client state and ping from interface

Client{} and Server{} implement unreliable UDP messaging

Allow listening for IPv4, IPv6, or both (if option is available)

Configure UDPSocketReceiver{} to allow listening for IPv4, IPv6, or both for systems where the option is available.
Class should report which standards are allowed when connected.

e.g.
