Folder Creation from File Open/Save Dialogs

I primarily use Jota with SL4A for playing with script ideas and little
projects. I generally prefer to keep the files fairly organized into different
folders, and so (especially with a new project) I'm often adding new folders
for new aspects of my projects.

As things are right now, I have to do any folder management from a different
app -- I'm using ES File Explorer, just my own preference -- and it gets
frustrating when I have to switch back and forth.

It'd be great if there was some way -- maybe through long-pressing on a folder
name, or a menu option -- to create new folders while I'm trying to save a new
file.

Feature Request: A Default Folder For Notes (*.nte) files

Hello!

please do consider of adding a quick way to access to files in a predefined
folder that have a predefined extension (such as "*.nte" or similar). This
would allow to use the Jota+ as a professional note tool also.

The command would operate over all the text in the active file, or if a
selection is active then on the selected text only.

I'm thinking something like the following dialog (made to be easily accessible):

New Dialog: "Save, Overwrite, Append", "View", "Cancel":

This dialog would show, from predefined folder, the list of filenames that
have the predefined extension (in alphabetic order), with the following buttons:

"View" button grayed.
"Save" button grayed.
"Append" button grayed.
"Cancel" button.

When the user gets to this dialog:

If a filename is clicked:
- the name of the file is moved to a text edit box to allow the user to change
it.
- the "View" button ungrayed.
- the "Append" button is ungrayed.
- The "Save" button is grayed.

If a the filename in the text edit box is edited then:
- the "View" button is grayed in case no such note file exists, else ungrayed.
- the "Append" button is grayed in case a note file with that name does not
exists, else ungrayed.
- The "Save" button is grayed in case no such note file exists, else ungrayed.

And finally:

If user clicked the "View" button:
- that note file is opened into a view mode. Some easy method to switch into to
edit mode would be provided.

Else If user clicked the "Save" button:
- the selection of text (or all the text in case no text selection is active)
is saved under that filename with the default extension.

Else If user click the "Append" button:
- the selection of text (or all the text in case no text selection is active)
is appended to the top of the that note file. (Maybe there could be anoption
for the append, either top of bottom).

And then ... if at all possible ... a "Share With" menu item such as: "Share
With Jota+ Notes" would be very useful. It would also show the above dialog and
then would simply allow to append to a note file. This would be a great way to
rapidly collect text segments from what ever app.

I would also need a tool something like a "Dropbox Clipboard" (copy/paste to
it) especially when using more than one phone. Perhaps such a capability could
be a Wow-Factor for a text editor. Making it compatible with PC also would
require a small tool but that would be rather easy to make (I think even I
could do that).

With Best Regards,
Timo

Highlight spelling errors

In most text boxes (android 4.1) spelling errors (based on android's own + the
user's dictionaries) are underlined in red. In jota+, spelling errors are not
highlighted. While such underlines are irritating when programming, they might
be deemed helpful for writing text. E.g. droidedit has a "writer mode" that
IIRC enables highlighting spelling errors. 920 text edit has something similar
IIRC. It would be nice if jota+ would optionally support highlighting spelling
errors too.

Window opens, Keyboard should initially be hidden

tached is a screen shot of my SaveAs Screen. The first thing I want to do (as I
do on my laptop) is locate the right folder. To me the keyboard should me
minimized until I select the filename window. This way I would more easily be
able to scroll thru my folders (scroll with finger and view better with my
eyes). Once I find my folder, I select the filename window and then the
keyboard should pop up.

In Jota, the keyboard stays hidden when you open the Save/SaveAs window.

After opening recent file keybord doesn't appear

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open file from history or open dialog
2. tip to place cursor in text - no keybord
3. long tip to open context menu
4. there's two points "Eingabemethode" (input method?) at beginning and at end
of list
5. confirm it at the beginning - this choice disappears next time
6. confirm it at the end (without any changes) one more time
7. keybord at least appears (maybe)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I miss a read/edit-button and/or a general option to start in edit mode.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Jota+ last version
on a htc one X
with Android 4.0

Please provide any additional information below.
Thx HG

request new features: rich text (bold, underline, color), and smaller upper toolbar

Hello

1) bold, underline, color fonts are featured in SL4A mode (?); is it possible
to write the same way in "usual” text (ie not for program code)?

- in portait mode, a significant screen area is lost in the upper part by the
file title bar, and by the upper tool bar: a cool feature would be to adjust
their height, eg like it is already possible for the bottom menu buttons size

many thanks in advance
Serge

KEYBOARD UPPER LOWER CASE PROBLEM

It happened on Jota standard and now has started happening on Jota+:

When I press a shift key on my (bluetooth) keyboard,
all non-alphas get shifted ok ( 1/! ./> [/{ etc)
but for some reason any actual alpha/letter won't go to Capitals.
If I put the CapsLock on it's fine, just the shift-keys don't work.

Sometimes if I shut down Jota+ and restart it, it might work ok again.

Significantly, swapping over to any other text input task, all always works ok.
it just happens in Jota
Any ideas ?

Hard word wrap

Feature request: jota+ supports "soft" word wrap. Many text editors like emacs
and vim prefer "hard" word wrap, i.e. inserting lf characters at line breaks.
It would be excellent if jota+ would support hard word wrapping + automatic
indentation like emacs or vim for compatibility with text files written in
emacs/vim and similar editors.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Write "abc123" into Jota+
2. Find "(\d+)"
3. Can not replace it to "abc_123" with "_\1" or "_$1" or "_\g<1>" or other
syntax.

Search's highlighted text same color as highlight color

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open any text file
2. Search for any word know to exit in document
3. Press search arrow to highlight word

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The highlighted word found with search changes the text foreground color to
that of the highlight color resulting in the text becoming invisible. The text
should change to the background color so it is visible in the highlighted
selection.

Feature Request: A New Toolbar Button "Enter a Shortcut"

Hi,

(It looks like I'm not able to post anything else than a "New Issue". This
however is a "New Feature Request".)

After spending a lot of hours in research I'm not able to use any of the
Shortcuts in my phones (HTC Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy Note). So a toolbar
button "Enter a Shortcut" would be a great help for me.

With Best Regards,
Timo
