Spectator mode.

A mode where a device can join a game, but not play, instead showing an overview of the game. The idea is to enable a tablet to sit in the middle of a room, or a device to cast to a ChromeCast like CardCast does to give a central focus point to a game in the real world.

At the end of the round, a winner should be displayed.

Have a 'popular decks' view in config that shows popular decks from CardCast.

Players should get extra cards when a play >2 call comes up.

Players should be able to remove decks from the lobby.

Have an option to have a game password.

The game IDs are obfuscated, but that obviously isn't a perfect defense against potentially unwanted people crashing a game. I figured that was better than much longer codes (UUIDs for example), but maybe we want to offer the ability to lock a game by password.

House Rule: Happy Ending

Add a new house rule that can be enabled from the house rules during game setup:

When the game ends, the final round is a 'Make a Haiku' black card.

This task is marked as a good first issue. If you would like to contribute but are unsure where to start, please take a look at the wiki for how to set up a development environment, and feel free to ask if you are still not sure.

You can pick cards and try to play after playing.

Swap the thumbs-up icon for a tick when confirming play.

When a player joins a game, the browser URL should reflect the game code.

Direct-to-game links.

Player names should have a title element with the full name displayed on hover, in case they are cut short.

When 2 players simultaneously start a new game from the same lobby the resulting game state shows 2 players as czar.

Errors should give more information.

Cards you pick do not maintain their order correctly.

House Rule: Rebooting the Universe

Add a new house rule that can be enabled from the house rules during game setup:

At any time, players may trade in a point to discard their hand and redraw.

The judging screen should be better.

It currently doesn't display well on mobile with lots of players, and doesn't use space well on bigger screens.

Probably related to #2, #18, #12.

Have an option to lock down configuration to the player who created the game.

Maybe even make it the default?

Cards should retain their IDs from CardCast to allow for multiple of the same card.

House Rule: God Is Dead

Add a new house rule that can be enabled from the house rules during game setup:

Instead of a card czar, players vote for the winner.

It should be possible to skip waiting for a player if they take too long.

Add a win condition (score limit).

Add the ability to rejoin the game after you leave ('undo') for a couple of seconds.

Just a nice QoL thing.

Players shouldn't be able to try to start the game when they don't have enough players.

Players should be able to leave a game permanently.

Cards should resize to take advantage of bigger screens.

House Rule: Packing Heat

Add a new house rule that can be enabled from the house rules during game setup:

For pick 2s, players draw an extra card before playing.

Indicate that other players have played for the round in progress.

In the core game view, as well as the scores panel.

Players who join during a round can't play into it, but the UI doesn't show this or stop them, resulting in errors.

All interactions should be disabled once hit, to stop multiple clicks causing errors.

Currently most buttons can be spam clicked to bad effect if the load isn't instant.

A player should be able to see a history of the past rounds of the game.

This is now being stored on the server, it needs to be exposed and handled by the client.

Errors should be dissmissable.

Players should be able to reconnect to a game.

Mainly just requires remembering the player secret on the client (cookies, web storage, etc...). Should already work from the server side.

Why can't I leave?

Remember what decks players use.

Local storage or something.

Players sometimes show as disconnected when they are not.

Unknown cause, try to find a reproducible scenario. May be something to do with other players joining.

Randomly playing AI

Games should be removed from memory when activity ceases for a given amount of time or all players leave.

When judging, the call should be filled with the responses as the Czar chooses.

Players shouldn't be able to try to start the game when they don't have a valid deck setup.

Have a 'recommended decks' with the core CaH deck to get people started.

Invite players should offer a QR code for easy sharing.

No elm libraries for this at the moment. All the other options (implement in elm, ports, native library) kind of suck for different reasons.

When judging, played cards should be split by player.

Simple CSS change - the styling just makes it ambiguous right now.

House Rule: Never Have I Ever

Add a new house rule that can be enabled from the house rules during game setup:

At any time, a player may discard cards they don't understand, however, they must confess their ignorance: the card is shared publicly.

Closing errors changes the page URL, removing the game code.

The game should probably cache decks or something.

Not a problem right now, but could be. Should ask the CardCast guys if they have any limits they'd like, etc...

Split actions by state.

It would make sense for actions to be split by the state they are relevant for.

Display an indicator on the scores button when a player joins/leaves and scores aren't shown.

When added, we should give more information about the deck to the player.

E.g: Name, card counts, etc...

After some time a 'diconnected' player should become a 'left' player.
