Number of Retweets given by the tool does not correspond with what twitter says.

Sometimes it happens that the tool is saying that a particular tuit has 40 tuis. And according to twitter it says 74. So there are some missing counts there.

Apart that, If I input a HT, I see way less number of tweets and retweets than what twitter is saying the trending topic has.

I just made the test with several TTs that seems to be over 80000 tweets and according to this tool it only has around 600 tweets plus 17 000 retweets.

Why so different numbers? How could I trust that it is actually giving me the right number of HTs?
