Guidelines to pages

Worker/building names

We want to avoid having to change a bazillion occurences all over the wiki in case we ever need to rename a worker or a building, for that reason there are 2 tags ({% building /%} and {% worker /%}) which you can use to write the name of the building/worker directly based on the name defined in the data files.

You can use these by doing {% building /%} (only directly in the building source page) OR {% building name="<key>" %} (when referring to a building outside of the building page itself). This setup is identical for the worker (by using {% worker name="<key>" /%}).

Links

We have a lot of links in the website referring to other documentation pages, a lot of them are still configured with a manually written name + path, for example: [Apiary](/wiki/buildings/apiary).

Going forwards we are using link templates, these are created using Markdoc tags.

Buildings

In order to write a building link you have to write: {% building name="<key>" /%} where the key of the building can be found in the src/content/buildings.

These link templates will automatically generate the path to the building aswell as use the proper name defined the in src/content/buildings.

Workers

In order to write a worker link you have to write: {% worker name="<key>" /%} where the key of the worker can be found in the src/content/workers.

These link templates will automatically generate the path to the worker aswell as use the proper name defined the in src/content/workers.

Testing locally

The project can be ran locally to test if your changes work as expected. You need the following installed to be able to run it.

Preparing the project

After cloning the project and having all the required tools installed you need to run:

  • pnpm install

This will install all of the project dependencies defined in the package.json.

Running the project

The project is served using the Astro CLI, this will start up a development server where you can test your changes.

In order to serve the project locally you have to run:

  • pnpm start

Children can't grow up

I have 2 kids that have 0 on the food bar, won't eat the food I give them, and won't grow up.

Building Materials Requirements Book/wiki

Hello! I had an idea that might benefit a lot of people who are pro-active with building their colony. How about a book in-game or on the wiki, that shows the materials required for each level of building? So this way, while the builder(s) are working on tier 1, you can go gather the materials for tiers 2-5!

Builder and Lumberjack Problem

Im just minding my own business and playing with the mod. All of a sudden my Lumberjack stops working, then so does my 2nd builder. It's day time, clear weather, everyone else is working. Any help please?

Citizens problem

Citizens are appearing like ghosts, you can see right through them and they flicker. Started a new game and they spawned in the same way. I never had this problem before. Not sure if it is something I'm doing or if there is a bug in the system.

Second Warehouse

Hello,
I made change in my colony config file and in the section
Should there be at max 1 warehouse per colony, i made it false.
After that the deliverymen confused and they only see the second warehouse.

Is there any possibility to use both of them?

builder only requesting from the warehouse not crafters.

when a needed item is in the warehouse the builder requests it no problem.
when the item (like stairs) needs to be crafted, the builder still wants the request to be fulfilled by the warehouse...

Need Recipe Images

Need recipe images in Recipe page to either reference or copy over to each worker's page.

Adding pages into the Tutorial page.

Porting over and updating:

  • Happiness and Saturation
  • Worker info (Traits, Tools/skill Level)
    Pages needed to create:
  • Build Tool
  • Request System - create page and add all content/images/links. Include Resource Srcoll and clipboard.
  • Multiblock and Misc - create page and all info/images/video links. include caliper.
  • Server Info Might not be needed as info is already in "Commands" page. maybe just to add the "Sponge Config" and a sample of the mod's "Config" file. Tho it's self explanatory and most is configurable in-game.

No Blacksmith?

I noticed in the modpack Im using, Enigmatica 2, that the blacksmith is not working, and neither are the mines. Is this something being worked on or is the modpack itself behind on versions?

Miner not using his pickaxe

My miner is not using his pick. Yes i gave all the things that i should have given to him but he stills digs with his hands.

Why ?

Also about 15 seconds after he began to break the block, he takes his pick and breaks the block.

Worker pages need cleanup and Images.

  • Baker is done. Needs: Hut block and Recipe images
  • Builder needs: update to include request System and images for baker, Hut block and Recipe.
  • Composter - Done. Need to check Hut level perks.
  • Deliveryman is Done. Needs images for hut block and recipe.
  • Farmer needs: GUI Images Formatting content, images, links. Update for cactus, sugarcane and cocoa beans.

Warehouse Issues

I'm setting up my colony for the first time ever, and I'm trying to get a warehouse set up but it keeps telling me "only 1 warehouse allowed per colony". I don't have any warehouses set up and mine is the only colony

Wiki Page error.

On https://wiki.minecolonies.com/source/workers/guard there is a error.

Now you will have to issue the builder the “Build” assignment so it can build the “Farmer’s Hut”.

Error of course being the reference to the farmer's hut, since it should be referencing guard tower / barracks. Sentence should probably just be removed in it's entirely though.

New Update

The most recent update to Minecolonies made all of my worlds disappear. I have spent 4 weeks on a build in one of those worlds. Is there any way to get them back or is it gone forever?

Miner dark oak

Der Miner dark oak level 3 wurde nicht richtig eingescannt und wird deshalb viel höher gebaut.

Make recipes easier to implement

Currently, while recipes shown live to a user are nice to see, they could be a lot better to implement for an editor. Therefore a method needs to be found to keep the front end but better the back end.

No Master Permission

I cannot find a Master Permission Node in the wiki. Most Master Nodes consist of the permission node string followed by a .* to gain all the perms of that mod. Can you please add one so that me and my devs can have access to the minecolonies perm system without having to add every single perm?

Can't place the Supply Camp even with proper space

I've only been able to place it once, and that was in a superflat world with completely clean ground. The thing is, I did the exact same thing for 3 other worlds and they didn't work at all. Have any way to fix this?

Worker pages needed

Pages added to Worker's category. Adding content to:

  • Composter
  • Herder(s)
  • Restaurant (cook)
  • Smelter

Cowboy hut: grass path

The cowboy hut: stone requires grass paths to be given to the builder in order for him to build it. yet minecraft has no recipe for grass paths, and they cannot be picked up with silk touch.

possible solutions:

1: a new crafting recipe for grass paths requiring 1 grass and 1 shovel in the crafting grid
2: have the builder create the paths himself

No requests are received on the Clipboard

In the clipboard are not received requests from all of the colonists. And this is probably why the connection does not work "application Builder to craft - the application of a craftsman to a resource" and as a result, the implementation of the application Builder. All the necessary recipes have been studied, but the couriers run into the empty.

Schematics Page

  • Copy from live site.
  • Change format to github format.
  • Upload pics for step 2 through 5.
  • Update content to follow suit with the newer scan tool

Picture files need to be uploaded to the page:

Supply camp and Supply ship both say you can place with build tool

You can make and use the Building Tool to place the Supply Camp so you can see a 3D image and you can move it around to the exact place and orientation you want it.

That probably shouldn't be on the page, and is likely why so many people are trying to place them with the build tool and failing. In theory they shouldn't even have a build tool at that point int he progression.

Should be just that they click the item on the ground, that brings up a preview that they can then move around.

Multiplayer Bug

So my friend and I are trying to play over LAN and have separate colonies, but once one town hall is placed it won't let the other person place a town hall, limiting us to one. We love this mod but would love it if this was fixed. Thanks

The field recipe is not good

The miner is not working

The only miner digs a mine shaft. All the tools he has available. Which node to develop specified. There are no requests from him. But he just stands there and does nothing.

Town Claim Modes Wiki page

The Wiki page about Town Claim Modes doesn't reflect actual experience within the game.

Under "Configuration Options" we are told we can alter the mode in-game through "mod Options".

Within Minecraft 1.14.4 the Config button remains greyed out for Minecolonies. Not checked for other versions.

Should this be intensional the Wiki needs to be amended to reflect this.
