ls_corridors's Introduction

LANDSCAPE CORRIDORS

This is the repository for LandScape Corridors (LSCorridors). It is a free and open source package that simulates multiple functional ecological corridors.

LSCorridors was developed and is maintained by the Spatial Ecology and Conservation Lab (LEEC), at Universidade Estadual Paulista, Rio Claro, SP, Brazil.

Find out more about it in our wiki.

The repository has 5 folders:

  • _LS_Corridors_v1_0_1: here you can find the main LSCorridors stable script, as well as scripts for testing LSCorridors.
  • old_versions: old versions of the code (before package release).
  • DB_demo: raster maps for testing and tutorials.
  • GIS_DB_Demo_location: GRASS GIS project location for demonstration and testing.
  • images: images for LSCorridors wiki.

Furthermore, here you may find LSCorridors license and PDF Tutorial.

ls_corridors's Issues

Calculation of Euclidean distance in LSCorridors

[BUG Report] Reported by @felipemartello

For each corridor generated inside LSCorridors, the Euclidean distance between Source (S) and Target (T) points is calculated. However, instead of calculating the distance between actual S and T locations, which may vary from one simulation to another (depending on the size of the S and T patches), the algorithm is only calculating the Euclidean distance between the centroids of S and T patches.

Code not running!!!!!! Every time I face only Errors.

Hi, I tried to learn and run the codes given. I tried it since last week. I am new to Python. Every time I got errors. Please help me with correct code, it will help me a lot. I am attaching the screenshot of the error.

Error Message on GRASS: MAXREPEAT

[BUG REPORT] Reported by Mriganka Shekhar Sarkar

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings from India!

I read your recently published paper entitled:
Landscape Corridors (LSCORRIDORS): a new software package for modeling ecological corridors based on landscape patterns and species requirements

I found the article is very helpful for my study. I am trying to explore the software with example data sets given in the git hub.
However, in the first place, the grass GIS is opening but the LS corridor panel is not opening.
I am getting an error message: MAXREPEAT.
The image of command line GRASS GIS is attached to this email.
Please help me to resolve this problem.

Regards,
Mriganka Shekhar Sarkar

Converting script to GRASS addon

Hi, are there any plans to further pursue the creation of a GRASS GIS addon (r.ls.corridors: as was mentioned on the GRASS GIS dev email list)?

Seeking Grass7.0.0 installer

Greetings, dear author:
I would very much like to ask you for a copy of the Grass gis version 7.0.0 installer, because I often encounter error reports when using LS corridors 7.8.5 and v-1-0-2, which is very painful for me, and I don't know if it is caused by my high Grass version, and I can't find the version 7.0.0 installer, so I would like to ask for your help! Thank you very much!

ValueError: could not convert string to float

Hello everyone,

I am trying to start the simulations with the tutorial, but in the command prompt get this error: ValueError: could not convert string to float: e=810780.34883516

I already converted the files from 16bits to float, and the error is still coming out. I wonder what am I doing wrong?

I don´t know if this is related or not, but when I run LS_corridors on the command prompt, it opens the GUI, but also an error appears: ERROR: No existing MASK to remove

Thank you so much in advance

Problems with ML methods at the edge of maps

The user Laura Nery Silva commented on an issue dealing with corridor simulations when the source-target (ST) points are near the edges of the resistance map (closer than the scale parameter), when using one of the ML methods (MLavg, MLmin, or MLmax).

She noticed that corridors for these ST points were not created, and this may be related to what happens at the edges of the map, and to the moving-window process to create the input resistance map for these methods.

This is just a reminder for us to take a look at that.
