I'm unable to reproduce this. I just scanned ~20,000 files and none of them leaked. Is this happening with a particular file? Would be great if you could send me a test case so I could reproduce the error.

nickdesaulniers, which version of node-musicmetadata are you using? A version from npm or newest source?

"version": "0.2.0" which is not the latest, I'll give it a shot after work!

Right, you'll need at least 0.2.1, these issues with the EventEmitter were caused by invalid inheritance in the old code.

Awesome, thanks for pointing this out. I'll try this out and close the issue if all is well. Just got my new server shipped in the mail at work, and I'm itching to set it up and run audiostream on it! Ugh!
