dts_restore's Issues

downmix, support, root, compile etc....

Hi!

  1. This script will work at Nano Series?
  2. This script only work with webos 5? what about 3, 4... or 6?
  3. Can you please detaily explain what exactly yuor script does?
As i understand? you override lib by mount you own "patched" version?
  4. If it so... Then please explain why it need to downmix? its OK for stereo TV speakers. But is importantet to make Bitstream pastroug over HdmiARC or SPDIF. As i understand script pass of software player limitation. So how to disable downmix in this case and set audio stream as is? Cuz is much importances than just play stereo.
  5. Why only MKV supported?
  6. It is possible make support for another File System support. Like EXFAT for example? It actualy strange... this OS is Lunux based. hovewer native kinux filse system like ext2-4 not supported! i mean...you can mount it directly...but Player cannot open this drive.
  7. Why just cant take video player from previos version of webos and make ssame script trick?
I mean... some TV mode of 2020-2019 have same hardware part. And minor changes. even LG support confirm it.
  8. What if flash 2019 firmware to 2020 tv? (with same hardware of course)
  9. As i understand You haveToolcahni to compile Firmware for TV. What if compile custom firmware. will it work?

Error while installing override from telnet

Hello, i'm having an error on insatlling override section. Can you help?

This installer was designed specifically for LG OLED CX TVs running
webOS 5.x with Gstreamer 1.14.4. However, you are trying run it on a(n)
OLED-A55 TV with webOS 7.3.0 and GStreamer 1.18.2.

While installing this software on an incompatible platform should not
cause irreversible damage, if you choose to proceed, you do acknowlegde
that, because you are not using the relevant target system:
1. The software may not work as expected, it at all.
2. You may lose existing features and/or functionality.
3. The entire responsibility for trying this software on an unsupported
   platform lies entirely with you.

DTS not working after patch

Homebrew Channel packaging

I can work on packaging this up into a proper .ipk and publishing this onto webosbrew repository, if you don't mind.

  • Make alternative installer into something a little more interactive - bash script with graphical luna prompts/alerts can work.
  • Move init script directly into the package and symlink it instead of copying/writing it into /var/lib/webosbrew/init.d - removal of "dts restore" application will effectively disable dts patches after a reboot. Making "installer" script" remove said symlink on every other app launch could work too.
  • mkdir -p /var/lib/webosbrew/init.d - people installing webosbrew via crashd exploit (and rootmytv v1 itself) do not actually make that directory - it should be fairly safe to create it on install.
  • Actually package everything into... a package
  • Publish on webosbrew apps-repo
  • (optionally) Set up CI - how annoying would it be to build native libraries used here in CI? Artifacts directly in the repo are fine for now.

Passthrough over ARC works on C1 webOS 6.3.3

Hi,
I'm very thankful for this.

I have an AVR which does ARC (not eARC) and after installing dts_restore, the sound is passtroughed to the AVR over ARC (stereo, ofc).

You stated, that passtrough is not possible. Is that not passtrough or does it just work on C1/webOS 6.3.3?
Since you force the downsampling, could it passtrough 5.1 to the AVR if the forced downsampling were removed?
