cantact-hw's Issues

STM MCU availability and crazy proces

Hello All

over the last several months we have seen prices of the STM MCU go from about $1.8 to $10 and now our latest purchase at $29. Has any one looked at the Artery MCU as a possible replacement for STM? The Artery MCU's look pretty much like a drop-in replacement for many of the STM MCUs. Wondering if anyone has modified the cantact hw design and candlelight software to run using these?

Artery MCU currently running under $2.

Looking for options.

CANtact not being recognized Subaru 2005

I am running a fresh ubuntu install on VMware fusion with my CANtact usb device connected to the virtual machine on /dev/ttyACM0.

The issue is I am running:

sudo slcand -o -c -s6 /dev/ttyACM0 and thing happens, the red light does not turn on. EVER. I just bought my CANtact device today so I am not sure if I have to flash firmware or anything like that...

Link not working

The link in the readme to the wiki for documentation does not appear to work.

Sporadic problems connecting CANtact to can bus

When following the guide for connecting using SocketCAN It only works around 50% of the time.
Laptop is running ubuntu 16..

when executing:
sudo slcand -o -c -s6 /dev/ttyACM0 can0
(with correct device)
Sometimes the red light (D2) will start blinking and I can subsequently do
sudo ifconfig can0 up
and
cansniffer can0
and I can see a lot of communication from can bus.

But often the red light never starts blinking and I when that happens I never see can bus communication.

I don't understand what is causing this sporadic behaviour - please help.
