docker-centos-7-sshd

Base SSHD image via base systemd image.

docker pull lloydbenson/docker-centos-7-sshd

Your custom base image should have:

RUN /install_sshd.sh
CMD ["/usr/sbin/init" ]

At the bottom. By default this will generate a root password and you can see the password generated. You can pass ENVIRONMENT variables of:

AUTHORIZED_KEYS

which puts this into /root/.ssh/authorized_keys

or if you prefer

ROOT_PASS

which will generate a custom password for root

Note: If you use AUTHORIZED_KEYS ROOT_PASS is ignored.

docker run -dt --privileged=true --name=sshd lloydbenson/docker-centos-7-sshd

docker logs sshd

to get the default password if you didnt pass in a KEY

How make it work ?

Hi,
I try to use your image.

Here what I did:

• from my terminal:

docker run -it --privileged=true --name=sshd lloydbenson/docker-centos-7-sshd

• inside the container sshd:

[root@4648b9e33171 /]# /install_sshd.sh 
Generating password for root
Generated password for root is: TtvZrzVKbC3z
Setting password for root
---------------------------------------------
ssh root@host
put in password above
Remember to change the password immediately!
---------------------------------------------
[root@4648b9e33171 /]# ssh [email protected]
ssh: connect to host 127.0.0.1 port 22: Connection refused

from my machin to the sshd container (using the ip address provider by docker inspect sshd):

martin@martin$ ssh [email protected]
ssh: connect to host 172.17.0.2 port 22: Connection refused

this base image not working？

i read the README, found the description mentioned as the image as base image, how can i use it ?i set root passwd, but i can't login to container.
