Level of Detail layer for pydeck

This repo is a work in progress to provide a custom deck.gl layer for use in pydeck that allows for a text layer that resolves varying levels of detail on zooming.

To get started with this example repo, install the dependencies:

yarn
python3 -m venv env
. env/bin/activate
pip install -r pydeck_example/requirements.txt

Then execute the following to a pydeck script and serve the JavaScript bundle:

python pydeck_example/lod_text_layer.py
webpack serve --progress

Navigate to http://localhost:8080/custom_layer.html in your browser, which should render the visualization.

You can deploy your project to NPM and host the your bundle on unpkg, which you can see in the custom layer example in the pydeck docs.
