postfix-utils's Introduction

INSTALL
=======
copy all files from perl directory to /etc/postfix/perl
copy all files from init directory to /etc/init.d

CONFIGURE
=========
Edit conf files in /etc/postfix/perl
Edit /etc/postfix/perl/bounce-sign and /etc/postfix/perl/bounce-check
and change keys and domain regex on top of the files

RUN
===

Provided are init scripts for Debian/Ubuntu systems.

/etc/init.d/bounce-sign  start
/etc/init.d/bounce-check start
/etc/init.d/greycached   start

IMPLEMENTATION
==============
All the services are written as asynchronous tcp servers. Bounce
services use select loop, greylisting service use high performance
EV loop (epoll, kqueue etc.).

PERFORMANCE
===========
Single connection benchmark on common hardware (AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2
Dual Core Processor 3800+)

          Rate  sign check
sign   20576/s    --  -82%
check 113636/s  452%    --

POSTFIX CONFIGURATION
=====================

bounce-sign:
-----------
main.cf:
sender_canonical_maps = tcp:127.0.0.1:10200
canonical_classes=envelope_recipient,header_recipient
canonical_maps=regexp:/etc/postfix/cleanup-prvs.regexp

cat /etc/postfix/cleanup-prvs.regexp
# cleanup bounce-signed addresses
/^([^+]+)\+prvs=[0-9]{4}[0-9a-f]{6}@((corp\.)?example\.com)$/i $1@$2

bounce-check:
------------
main.cf:
Add "check_policy_service inet:127.0.0.1:10201" to smtpd_recipient_restrictions

grycached:
---------
Add "check_policy_service inet:127.0.0.1:10222" to smtpd_recipient_restrictions
