whoami's Introduction

Hello, my name is...

$ curl -s https://whoami.lmhd.me/
Lucy Mægan Heather Artemis Davinhart

v2 Coming Soon!

The current https://whoami.lmhd.me/ is being decommissioned and replaced with a shiny new v2 API!

I will be adding redirects for all this version of the API's responses as I go.

For example https://whoami.lmhd.me/ --> https://api.lmhd.me/v1/name.json

An API to find out who I am.

Returns /name's full_name.preferred

MOVED: https://api.lmhd.me/v1/name.json

Names.

In the current unversioned API, each section of this object contains three values:

  • preferred - Use this one for basically everything
  • canonical - If you need to know my legal name for something, use this
  • alternatives - Other options, e.g. spelling differences if you need ASCII

For my first name specifically, canonically this is "Lucy", but it sorta kinda maybe is short for something... I just haven't decided what. See options in first_name.alternatives

And yes, my preferred initials do not match the initials of my preferred full name. Not a typo.

Pronouns.

Listed in order of preference, along with usage instructions from https://github.com/witch-house/pronoun.is

Title.

If, for some reason you need to address me as "Ms Davinhart"

Social media stuff, I guess?

MOVED: https://api.lmhd.me/v1/quest.json

What do I do?

Yes, I have an official hex code.

Yes, I keep forgetting what it is.

whoami's Issues

Simplify Names?

Could it be assumed that if the canonical field for names is not present, that the legal name is the same/is identical to the preferred name?

I feel like this would be quite a bit more succinct if there wasn't as much duplicated data. ^-^

Thoughts?

OpenAPI

ya know, because just having an API in the first place isn't enough; it needs to be over-engineered AF
