I've considered it, in particular exactly what you propose (statements that are only comments). Are you asking me to implement this, or are you asking me if I would be open to accepting a patch that provided the functionality you describe? ;)

After putting it off for almost a year, I finally tackled the simplest part of this problem in pull request #36 . Right now I'm satisfied generating the Comment token into the AST without the help of the quasiquoter, but I'm happy to work on adding comments to the parser & quasiquoter, possibly with a little help from @elliottt or others.

Statement-level comments are now implemented, so I'm closing this issue. If the current implementation doesn't staisfy your requirements, please open a new issue.
