plasma-applet-server-status's Issues

Only "Example" host showing up

Since lately (I can't tell when) I only have the example host in the applet. I've tried recreating the applet but that didn't help.

Constant erroring over QML row

My system logs are filled with thousands of errors like the following, as seen in journalctl:

Mar 06 05:03:48 fedora-box plasmashell[3476]: file:///home/mybox/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.serverstatus/contents/ui/main.qml:69:14: QML Row: Cannot specify left, right, horizontalCenter, fill or centerIn anchors for items inside Row. Row will not function.

The plasmoid still works, howerver.

Porting to Plasma6

With Plasma6, Plasma 5 widget doesn't work. Have you think in upgrade it?

Thanks

Feature request: Section headers

It would be nice to have section headers for those of us who monitor many different kinds of servers. E.g:

Local Servers

Server 1
Server 2
Server 3

Remote Servers

Server 1
Server 2
Server 3

Firewalls

Firewall 1
Firewall 2
Firewall 3

Configuration checks and hints

It is now possible to enter invalid configuration in the settings dialog because there seems to be no validity check. It would be more user friendly to show warning if for example you entered invalid character in the hostname or left some field empty.
Also it would help users if they could see better what the different options are for. This could be done for example by adding appropriate placeholder text like "Server name" in "Name" field and "Server hostname or IP address" in the hostname field. And maybe some mouseover text for the other fields like the "Active" checkbox?

Size resets to default on reboot

Hi ! I have installed a fresh Kubuntu 19.10 system last month, and I use the Server Status applet since the beginning. It's great !

Recently I have added the Kubuntu backports PPA to get more recent versions of KDE Plasma. And since Plasma 5.17.5, this started to happen :

  • This is the original size (bottom right)

    SERVERSTATUS_before

  • When I log out or reboot, it becomes like this :

    SERVERSTATUS_after

I have tried deleting it and re-setting it up, but the same behavior persists. This made me notice that the "after" size looks like it's the default size.

Here are my KDE versions :

Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0
Qt Version: 5.12.4
Kernel Version: 5.3.0-26-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-2130 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Memory: 5,8 GiB of RAM

Notification when a server is not reachable

Would it be possible that you show a notification when a server gets unavailable (but maybe check first if the computer has internet or something?) as I might not look at the applet all the time :)
