armenu's Introduction

AR Menu

Android Augmented Reality Menu, an Android experiment for Google I/O 2017.

Don’t you hate it when your friend’s food looks tastier than yours? AR Menu uses augmented reality technology to showcase a restaurant's menu as realistic 3D food models before it comes to your plate- so you know exactly what you had ordered. This android experiment replaces old, out-dated paper menus to an interactive and cool way to dine.

How to Use

  1. Download and print the image target from https://goo.gl/wcLoRs
  2. Download the Android application from the Google Play Store
  3. Place the image target on a levelled and dry place (Bonus points: access to good lighting)
  4. Launch the AR Menu application and complete the onboarding instructions
  5. Scan the image target and swipe to view different menu items
  6. Click order button to share your discoveries with your family and friends
  • Easter Egg: Use any QR Code Scanner application to learn the process behind the implementation of this experiment and how you can create your own augmented reality application.

Built With

  • Vuforia
  • Unity
  • Android Studio

How to Contribute

This is an Android experiment. With that being said, if you find this project to be cool and something you would love to contribute to, that would mean a lot to us! Whether it be adding a new feature to further enhance the dining experience, perfecting the stability or simply refactoring our code, fork the repo and push your work.
