MapleStory Music website

Description

This project houses the source for the MapleStory Music website.

Available Scripts

In the project directory, you can run:

yarn start

Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in the browser.

The page will reload if you make edits.
You will also see any lint errors in the console.

yarn test

Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.
See the section about running tests for more information.

yarn build

Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.

The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.
Your app is ready to be deployed!

See the section about deployment for more information.

yarn eject

Note: this is a one-way operation. Once you eject, you can’t go back!

If you aren’t satisfied with the build tool and configuration choices, you can eject at any time. This command will remove the single build dependency from your project.

Instead, it will copy all the configuration files and the transitive dependencies (webpack, Babel, ESLint, etc) right into your project so you have full control over them. All of the commands except eject will still work, but they will point to the copied scripts so you can tweak them. At this point you’re on your own.

You don’t have to ever use eject. The curated feature set is suitable for small and middle deployments, and you shouldn’t feel obligated to use this feature. However we understand that this tool wouldn’t be useful if you couldn’t customize it when you are ready for it.

maplestory-music.github.io's Issues

Local / Shared Playlists

I'd love a way to create local or shared playlists. I recognise #12 was mentioned, discussed and closed, but would love to open this idea up again.

Perhaps that data can be conflated into query-params (for easy sharing) or something more stable like cookies (if you want to go down the perms route). Otherwise saving the playlists (that contain no real secure data) to a free OSS JSON-blob storage app might be a fun and useful way of fixing that storage issue.

My primary use is I want to create 'relaxing MapleStory playlists' for work - but the Youtube videos I typically listen to have become so ingrained in my brain that the order of them drives me a little crazy. I want to randomise my playlist throughout the day.

Would be happy to discuss the idea and plan more if required.

Request for join development!

I have sent you an email but I reckon you may not aware of it! I would just opened the issue instead. :)

Hi, Wesley!

Hope you are doing well! I am a big fan of your maplestory music project. I wonder if you need any help with the development? I guess you are 99% done but I would still like to ask if you can invite me to the org and I can do simple tasks.

I am just a big fan of MapleStory and would like to join any project that has something to do with the game! :D

Let me know what you think! It's okay if you don't feel like it! >_<

Allow searching by identifiers.

https://github.com/maplestory-music/maplebgm-db/blob/a4167f754c4e54c493a2478df6e41e05033e5f87/bgm/Bgm42.json#L22

The JSON database has the identifiers (the filenames in the database). Why don’t you enable searching by identifiers with those?

Also, currently it doesn’t show the identifiers, but only the subdirectory names (e.g. “Bgm42”). This piece of information solely doesn’t identify anything. I believe it should show both directory names and identifiers.

Feature request: shuffle music in date range

It would be nice to be able to shuffle in a specific date range (or at least something like "before 2008").

Also, it seems that the date sort is a bit broken:

Enable playing in order without shuffling?

Would it be possible to add a function to play the tracks in order based on user inputted filters to the track list? Use case - want to listen to the tracks in the order they released in, rather than needing to shuffle the tracks in order for a single track to not play on repeat. Thank you!

Feature Request - Local Playlists

Fantastic day to you!

Would be nice to be able to create local playlists (that are saved in browser's storage), with the tracks that people like.

Problem is that I hit the shuffle button, it starts playing, but sometimes there are tracks that I don't like, and don't want it to ever play it again. So I would love a button "Remove from playlist". If playlist doesn't exist yet, then it should probably ask "In order to do that, you need to create a playlist" with the playlist name prompt.

Would be truly perfect.
