chordreader's Introduction

Chord Reader

ChordReader is an app that fetches chord charts and tabulatures for your favorite songs from the Internet, saves them, and displays them in an easy-to-read format with the chords highlighted. The identified chords can also be transposed up or down, or you can add a capo. It's good for changing the key of a song to fit your vocal range.

Status

This is a fork of the abandoned ChordReader app by Nolan Lawson, which I needed to fix, so I could use it. It works with ultimate-guitar.com now.

chordreader's Issues

Provide interface for "share link"

It would be great if the app would be able to open external links. To be more specific: The app should appear in the menu when pressing share in any browser. That would make it much easier to open bookmarks from the browser in this app.

Can't open settings menu or save chords

Hi @marcelklehr,

Thanks for putting out this cool app. It looks like it could be really useful. Unfortunately I can't seem to use some of the features. Specifically, I can't figure out how to save cords after I find and view them.

I'm wondering if the app is designed for older versions of Android, which always had a 'settings' button, which newer versions of Android don't have.

Any thoughts?

Introduction to menu in the navigation bar

On the first startup of the app it is important to point out the menu in the navigation bar which is a really unusual placement.
Otherwise it's likely that users won't notice it when searching for menu options.

Cope with special letters

Some of the letters get changed to '?'.
Examples: 'ä', 'ö', 'ü', 'ß'.
They should be copied correctly to the txt file.
Most likely this is an encoding issue.
