法定傳染病需要經過通報、採檢體、送驗等等程序 但是光是如何確認眼前這個病人符合法定傳染病的通報定義，就要翻閱一堆PDF。在確認並通報之後，要開始進入採檢體的過程，一樣要在一堆PDF當中找到需要採集的檢體、如何採集、要用到哪些器具以及在運送過程需要注意哪些事項。
這些事情都必須放下手邊工作，到電腦前才可以做查詢，並且是在一堆半結構化的PDF當中找尋。
因此，本專案預計透過以下幾個步驟，將一堆法定傳染病說明PDF，變成結構化資料，並製作一個可離線、可在手機上使用的應用程式，讓第一線的護理人員可以比較方便地完成工作。
