vmware.preferencepane's Issues

“VMware.prefPane” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

FYI

Catalina requires all software to be signed with developer IDs and to be 'notarized' by Apple. In the absence of an updated version from the developer, you can remove the quarantine Extended Attribute on the file:

sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Library/PreferencePanes/VMware.prefPane

Naturally, this bypasses Apple's security precautions which exist to stop maliciously altered software from running...

VMware.PreferencePane

i can't find way to to it
cp -r VMware.prefPane ~/Library/PreferencePanes/
in terminal i got error when i copy this to the terminal
please some staps how to copy and what i copy all files & sub maps or just one ??
please help for dummy

How to remove/uninstall?

First, thanks for the time and effort it took to put this together. I figure I may need it at some point (even though i dont at this instant)

I installed it just as a dry/test run and facepalmed since I didnt make a snapshot prior which would have saved me harassing you.

How does one uninstall/remove the pane?

Unable to retain resolution

I am using OSX 10.13 on VMware workstation 14.
The panel has helped me resized the screen resolution to 1920x1080.
However, for some reason it automatically reverts to 960x540 (HiDPI).
Is there a setting that I have missed or something else is hindering the scaling?

Unable to find service

Hi I'm running your sw on

image

When click "apply" i got this

image

I already have custom vmware tools installed but cannot 'autoresize' changing viewport width. And cannot se manually the resolution becase even the command line told me "unable to find service"

Screen size not persisted across reboot

I'm reopening the issue #1 because it doesn't seem to work with me.

Even after unlocking the pad, changing the resolution and applying the new settings, this doesn't work.

Also, I noticed that the following command:

sudo vmware-resolutionSet <width> <height>

works but doesn't keep the resolution after a reboot.
