A potential fix I think might be to rewrite how things are done by SALR in regards to post highlighting. I think the best solution would be to have SALR step through all posts only once, applying all needed highlightings on the spot. Might be faster than doing the current search and update that it currently does. Maybe? Hopefully?

I must say that this is a critical issue in this otherwise awesome extension. The only solution is to disable post highlightining and that's a little bit of a bummer. Interestingly when this happens it slows down all the tabs with SA open, not just the one with friend posts.

On a random page, a test got a speed that was 0.0273135% of the old amount of time it took (40273ms vs 11ms).

Probably as good as it's going to get unless there's some miracle breakthrough for a couple ms or something.
