`treeFor` causes all of `node_modules` to be in vendor tree

This is what is being done:

  var assetsPath = require('path').join('timecop', 'timecop.js'); 
  // => timecop/timecop.js
  var treePath = require.resolve('timecop').replace(assetsPath, '');
  // => <app-root>/node_modules/
  return this.treeGenerator(treePath);

However, what you really want to do is to just grab the directory you need, and pass that forward.

Something like this should be close:

treeForVendor() {
  var path = require('path');
  var Funnel = require('broccoli-funnel');
  var timecopPath = path.dirname(require.resolve('timecop'));
  var baseTree = this.treeGenerator(timecopPath);

  return new Funnel(baseTree, {
    destDir: 'timecop'
  });
},
