Nntp::Client

This gem is a lightweight solution for connecting to a NNTP-Server and retrieving news

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'nntp-client'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install nntp-client

Usage

NNTP::Client::Session provides a simple API for retrieving newsgroups and posts from a NNTP-Server

NNTP::Client::Session.start("some.nntp.host") do |nntp|
  # Fetch all newsgroups
  nntp.newsgroups

  # Fetch specific newsgroup
  group = nntp.group "some.news.group"
  group.posts.each do |post|
    # get the contents of a post
    post.raw
  end
end

Contributing

sapphire-nntp's Issues

Merge this repo and Sapphire core repo

I would like to merge this repository with the sapphire core repository.
Similar like rails and all Active* gems.

Or maybe just inline it into sapphire/lib/nntp or something similar.
Tests would also be nice for the interface to Sapphire itself. Or integration tests together with the responsible Sapphire Service which uses this lib.

If we transition Sapphire to IICM or anything else, like a public GitHub organisation, it is more compact and looks cleaner.

IMHO.
