Install

Examples

Pass an array

outliers([12, 14, 51, 12, 10, 9, 16, 1]) // [1, 51]

Filter out outliers

[12, 14, 51, 12, 10, 9, 16, 1].filter(outliers()); // [12, 14, 12, 10, 9, 16]

Filter out outliers from an array of objects

var arr = [{ n: 12 },{ n: 14 },{ n: 51 },{ n: 12 },{ n: 10 },{ n: 9 },{ n: 16 },{ n: 1 }]
arr.filter(outliers('n')); // [{ n: 12 },{ n: 14 },{ n: 12 },{ n: 10 },{ n: 9 },{ n: 16 }]

outliers's Issues

Filter outliers in an array of objects

Hi there,

I have the following data structure [{a:1,b:2} , {a:2,b:3}, {a:80 , b:4}]

I want to filter out only the a:80 from its object but to keep b:4 and its object in the array - is it possible?

Only Works For Numbers?

Hi there, thanks for making this awesome module!

It's working excellently for me with numbers, but with other values it doesn't seem to work as well.

const outliers = require('outliers')

const data = ['beer', 'vodka', 'whisky', 'wine', 'ketchup']

return outliers(data)

interestingly, this just returns an empty array... 🤔

Doesn't Work For 3 Element Arrays?

eg:

outliers([20, 21, -1000]) //  returns [] 

I would think it should return -1000...
