Plugin support

Currently plugins can be imported in the build script. Ideally there would be support to load plugins from config file (ie. build script not required) as well as ad-hoc plugins from a custom plugin directory.

Python 3 support

Hana uses pkgutil extend_path to allow load plugins from seaparate hana-plugins packge into it's namespace (reducing dependencies on the core, which ships only with filesystem read/write plugins). This doesn't work well in Python 3, and the whole system should be re-thought along with #2)

Create a filtering system for file sets that's easy to query. Similar to what Alembic, Django, or Hugo has for styles.
