Issue with building the OpenWRT for LinkIt
Hello,
We are looking at compiling the OpenWRT for our project. Our requirement is to be able to compile the OpenWRT without support for Wi-Fi.
We are following the guide given on the below link:
https://github.com/MediaTek-Labs/linkit-smart-7688-feed
While compiling the same we are faced with this warning.
After running the make menuconfig we are getting the following warnings:
""
WARNING: Makefile 'package/feeds/linkit/mtk-linkit/Makefile' has a dependency on 'mountd', which does not exist
WARNING: Makefile 'package/feeds/linkit/mtk-linkit/Makefile' has a dependency on 'kmod-sound-mtk', which does not exist
configuration written to .config
""
After this we run the Step 8 and 9 and we have troubles loading the OS on the LinkIT MT7688.
This is our configuration:
Also we don't know what image is to be selected here:
Please help.
Thanks
Ambimat Support.

Compilation ERROR - Openwrt 15.05 branch has upgraded the kernel to 3.18.45
The openwrt 15.05 (git://git.openwrt.org/15.05/openwrt.git) has updated the kernel version to 3.18.45 which will result in the compilation failure of the mtk-sdk-wifi due to the lack of file wifi_binary/mt_wifi.ko_3.18.45 and ./wifi_binary/mt_wifi.ko_3.18.45_all.
As workaround, I changed the git HEAD to the previous commit:
git checkout c170d84bbe08e0f049c99d3f376aae170a36458e -b pre_3_18_45
Although the workaround works, It would be desirable to add the new wifi_binary files to the repo.

Linkit 7688 analogRead in python
I used a linkit 7688 duo to read a analog input with Arduino IDE in c code. But now I have the problems on transferring C to Python .I have already tried:
(1). import analogio ,but I cannot install it by typing even I tried first.
(2). import mraa. But I don't know what is the ADC pin mode in GPIO.
please help me, thanks !
If you have any confusion with my problem, you can either send email to [email protected] or inbox me through my instagram @volleyball_su

issues booting with the ftdi connection
I just got the 7688 Dou and am excited to try it out. I dont know hwat the issue is. When I power it over the USB cable it turns the greeen LED on then the Orange LED on, but the Orange LED never turns off. I connected using you recommendations here:
http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/LinkIt_Smart_7688_Duo
but mine orange LED never turns off, so I connected with an FTDI Basic and watched it boot. Seems fine, until the board gets to this part of the boot process:

EDIT:
problem solved - sorry noob here, just discovered the solved section but build still does not work, fails on libmraa. but since that one is solved, better delete it if possible. thanks.
EDIT2: Solved the libmraa issue by simply deactivating it at make menuconfig.
Also encountered the problem that the FTP link in some script for the kernel didn't work. found the solution here: servalproject/openwrt@a378338
**Maybe it's just me, but i feel like, nobody's really willing to help "N00bs". i find it kind of sad, because unlike me(also N00b), a lot of these "N00bs" are Kids which are getting into programming and scripting, are may or may not a little less patient to read trough all these links they find on google. so basically, this is exactly, why i made these edits on here. It maybe helps somebody else solve these issues.

support for musl instead of uclib
-std=c++11 is not working on uclib. will musl be supported in future builds of the firmware? I tried compiling trunk for the 7688 but it creates more problems than solutions. I could replace replace the c++11 functions with a more uclibc friendly ones but it's a bit counter intuitive to use an old library on a new system we are trying to develop.
Please advise.

[Question] check if wifi connected
Hi,
I set the configuration of 7688 to connect wifi to another router (B). How can I check that the board is really connected to B? (from CLI)
I know the board is connected because I see it on B dashboard but I need to know from the board.
Also, it is very slow to connect to another router (around 20secs), is it normal?
Cheers,
Compile failed with the latest openwrt 15.05 branch
The openwrt 15.05 has updated the kernel version to 3.18.44 which will result in the compilation failure of the mtk-sdk-wifi due to the lack of file wifi_binary/mt_wifi.ko_3.18.44 and ./wifi_binary/mt_wifi.ko_3.18.44_all.

How may I do this with my Linkit Smart 7688? Is there some iwpriv that I can access to configure the driver?

firmeware bin size is smaller than 3M and upgrade failure
We have built the firmware for several times following the steps in the project and works out the bin file, however the 7688 DUO board WIFI LED keeps light after upgrading with the firmware bin file, which means the linux kernal initialization failured.
We have compared the compiled bin file with the one download from the office site, the file size is 3M VS 21M. What's wrong about the bin?

mt_wifi disassociation reason
Is it possible to get reason of wifi disassociation? E.g. when I type in the wrong password, I see that the driver tries to connect continously. iwconfig apcli0
gives me Access Point
address and every 10-20 seconds it turns from the AP MAC to Not-Associated
and then back. Is it possible to query the reason from the driver why dissassociation happened? E.g. was it wrong password or something else.
Issue in make menuconfig.
I'm trying to build for LinkIt Smart 7688 Duo. I am following all necessary steps provided in this documentation. But I'm getting error in make menuconfig, error is as below,
$ make menuconfig

Channels 12 and 13 not enabled
My AP is on channel 12/13, I use 0.9.4 and I can't connect to it. How can I fix this ?
This is my configuration :
config wifi-device 'radio0'
option type 'ralink'
option variant 'mt7628'
option hwmode '11g'
option htmode 'HT40-'
option channel 'auto'
option disabled '0'
option linkit_mode 'sta'
option country 'FR'
option country_ie '1'
EDIT
Now it works.
Just add one more option “region” below the “country” option and set it to 1 like:
option disabled '0'
option linkit_mode 'sta'
option country 'FR'
option region '1'
option country_ie '1'

About mt_wifi.ko_3.18.36 No such file or directory
I'm trying to build openwrt for Linkit Smart 7688 Duo and I get the error that mt_wifi.ko_3.18.36 is missing. And I realize that I have the same error as this: #17
I looked at the GIT repository and found that CC had a kernel update from 3.18 to 3.18.36 two days ago and that explains why I cannot build. So a new build of the mt_wifi.ko module is needed.
Kind regards,
Daniel
