discord-slash-commands's Issues

Question

Hello, I'm kinda new to this stuff.
How do I make a slash command which actually replies with a message?
(sorry for this stupid question)

[FEAT] Command Builder API

Add a Command Builder API

Something like...

const newCommand = new CommandBuilder()
  .setName("cool-command")
  .setDescription("a cool command")
  .addOption({
    name: "cool",
    description: "is the command cool",
    type: ApplicationCommandOptionType.BOOLEAN
  })
  .build()

Registered command does not show up on the client

I tried registering a slash command as stated in README.md but it won't show up on the discord client. I can see it in the list that is returned from getApplicationCommands() but it won't show in the client why? Tried it on canary and the normal one.

[FEAT] Adding tests

I believe we need to add some tests, to make sure everything works properly when we make new releases.

[FEAT] Proper handling/throwing of Errors

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It's annoying that there's next to no indication that creation has succeeded if you aren't looking at the response (like I wasn't), and the typings don't indicate that a rate limit object can be returned.

Describe the solution you'd like
Either add the rate limit object to the typings, and make it known it can be returned, or (what I would personally prefer) throw an error when you get ratelimited. (check status code & body)

Describe alternatives you've considered
None.

Additional context

Editing slash commands uses the wrong HTTP method

Describe the problem
In the docs it says to use PATCH to update commands, not sure if this is a new thing or not, but trying to edit a command now gives a 405: Method Not Allowed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a slash command
  2. Try to edit the slash command

Expected behavior
Edits the slash command

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • Node.JS version: 14.7.0
  • Operating System Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on Windows 10 x86_64
  • Package version 1.2.0

error

Why I have ReferenceError: ApplicationCommandOptionType is not defined error?

No file dist/index.js but in dist/src/index.js

Hello !

On the 1.2.2 the package works well, on the 1.3.0 I have this error when importing it :
screenshot

The problem seems to be the "main" entry in the package.json that points to "dist/index.js" instead of "dist/src/index.js".

I don't think i'm the only one, it would be weird if so ๐Ÿค”

Great job by the way, i love you package ๐Ÿ‘
