News board redesign

Something like a chat widget that can be accessed from anywhere

Details

• mock up an interface for the news board that displays stories in a grid and makes it fool proof to share links
• stories include: tweets, FB posts, instagram pictures, and user submitted likes which will include a title and possibly a preview
• tweets/FB posts/instagram pics will be auto scraped from the social accounts of organizations
• user submitted links could be to anything
• when you click into a story, it should pop up a textarea or something for people to comment. closer to a chat box than a comment box
• doesn't necessarily have to be a whole new page
• I'm thinking that the chat bar will always be there and if a link is pasted into it, it gets submitted as a story
• but if not, then it's just a comment stream
• if you click on a story, the cursor moves to the same chat bar and whatever you type gets associated with that story

Show membership approval status

Create local DB

• users (with directory_id from api)

We'll import the DB from api into here and turn API into just a Directory for authentication.

Make news page grid instead of list

Import the facebook/twitter sharing from API into here.

Sometimes old bulletins are returned, but they should not be shown on the home page.

Possibly because we're giving moment.js a custom formatted timestamp. Maybe need to embed an object instead.

Stop loading collegedesis in application route

This was only there so we could pre load the organization to highlight the link to the about page. Not necessary anymore.
