Windows Smartscren as well as many other av's are detecting the tool as a virus

The tool used to randomize the game is being flagged by 5 engines virustotal say that the tool is a trojan downloader, it is also flagged by windows smartscreen and chrome was blocking the file when downloaded I understand that its false positive because its open source but is there any sort of way that you can get rid of them? i dont know how coding works but it seems like something that would be useful. And do you know what part of the tool is getting flagged as a virus?

BCML error

I want to merge the Graphics Pack created from the Randomizer with some other mods. But i get the Error "NoneType object is not scriptable"

Items taking a while to load in

Ok so things like pepper bushes, enemy camps, hell even random rocks will just sometimes take a while to load in, to the point where I can't move Link for about 30 seconds, is this an issue with the randomizer or is my emulator just not optimized enough? I followed all the proper guides, so I guess it could also be my computer.

not getting camera rune in game

after loading up the game and playing. i do not get the camera rune, however when i watched linkus7's video he got the camera rune right when he walked out of the shrine of resurrection i do not know how to reproduce and dont know how to fix this.

Certain Shrine loading freezes

Ok so this may already be known but it seems that when entering certain shrines the loading screen just stops loading but the game is still unfrozen, I can reload tips, and it seems certain shrines are hard locked like this, making some shrines un-enterable.

Guide: BCML

Not really an issue since it seems to be working for me.
This is more of a Guide how i did it.

I just zipped the Files generated by the executable and then installed them with BCML instead of directly activating them with Cemu.

Haven't run into any problems as of yet.

Several Bugs when using Cemu 1.26.2f

I got a ton of bugs when playing the game on the latest stable cemu version such as:
-Infinite tutorial popups for weapons, ect
-the old man being completely gone
-intro cutscene after leaving the first shrine can be triggered infinetly

Randomizer Stuck

I'm running the tool currently and it's just.. stuck. It's been stuck for a few hours now. No error popups, nothing, the progress bar just hasn't budged and there's no way to tell what it's doing.

"-" character in the graphicPack folder path results in crash

Brief Description

If the user's path for the "Cemu Graphic Pack Folder" includes the character "-" and they attempt to randomize a game, the "BOTW Randomizer Tool" will attempt to generate a game but will crash on the "Randomizing Overworld" step.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Open BOTW Randomizer Tool.
  • Populate the "BOTW Base Content Folder", "BOTW Update Content Folder" and "BOTW DLC Content Folder" via their respective "Browse..." buttons.
  • Populate the "Cemu Graphic Packs Folder" via the browse button and make sure the file path includes a "-" character.

Result

  • "BOTW Randomizer Tool" crashes with no lingering traces of a background process running.

  • Thanks for providing this tool for the community, I got it working and definitely looking forward to giving this a go over the next few days :) .
  • This appears to be happening for myself and I expect also for Fungyfarmer in Discord as well https://discord.com/channels/888554960931946528/906199628943360061/914543670227787827 .
  • The "-" issue does not not appear to be the case with the "BOTW Base Content Folder", "BOTW Update Content Folder" and "BOTW DLC Content Folder".
  • Running the tool on Windows 10 with latest non-experimental version of Python3.
  • It appears to work well with other similar (ish) characters like "_" and ".".
  • Please let me know if you have any questions and my apologies if this is a misreporting. Wasn't sure if reporting potential issues should be done via a GitHub issue and/or via the Discord.

Not getting this to load on Cemu 2.0-65

I make the graphic pack, I enable it before opening the game, and it just never works. Starting a new save file will cause it to stop at a white screen after Zelda says "Open your eyes." I tried starting a save without the mod and it worked fine. I loaded the save with the graphics pack enabled, and it stops loading at half of the progress bar.

[Request] Big list of features I think would be really good to add

You probably already have some of these ideas planned but I figured it couldn't hurt to suggest some stuff I think would be cool. I really enjoy your rando and ty for making it free/public!

IDEAS:

  1. Toggle to allow shrines to give spirit orbs like normal
  2. Toggle to disable spirit orbs in chests
  3. Toggle to randomize the shrine that is loaded when you interact with a shrine elevator (ex: Link enters Kaya Wan next to the stable, the inside of Bosh Kala is loaded, after completing Bosh Kala/leaving the shrine via the elevator the game places Link where he entered and is outside Kaya Wan still at the stable)
  4. Toggle to ensure Champion Abilities/Bow of Light are obtained from their normal sources
  5. More win conditions for fighting Ganon besides just the master sword with the option to choose or randomize the conditions. Ideally more than one condition could be active at once. (ex: Collect the master sword, 2 Champion abilities, and have the full Barbarian set in order to start the ganon fight)
  6. Related to the above^, a way to check the status of your win conditions (ex: talk to a korok you have already collected and they will give you a hint towards an uncompleted win condition, similar to the Gossip Stones in OoT rando)

Enemies and items respawn upon reloading saves

It is possible to exploit getting infinite items by repeatedly saving and reloading a savefile next to a group of enemies randomized by this mod without the need for a Blood Moon to occur.

Tooltip Window

When getting a second weapon, the change weapons window pops up, and it keeps popping up. And it keeps popping up forever. If you pause in between the one frame of a chance you have, it only stops if you drop the weapon. Even reloading or changing weapons doesn't work. And I think its the same for every tooltip.

Randomized music/sfx

Hey! I’m a huge fan of this project and while I don’t really know any coding I’d love to contribute through just an idea for the next update. Would it be possible to have the option to randomize the music and sound effects? I think this could lead to tons of funny moments, like a guardians laser beam sound being replaced by Beedle’s laugh, or the Thunderblight Ganon theme being replaced by the stable music.

Maybe i'm just impatient however just wondering if anyone is still working on this mod?

Maybe the wrong place to ask that however there are still alot of bugs which make it not as fun to play so would be nice to see some fixes and new stuff :)
Some issues are not even reacted to yet so just wondering.

Trial of the Sword not starting

I just got the Master Sword but noticed the Trial of the Sword DLC quest didn't show up. Also, the game seems to think I never did the first quest on the Great Plateau even though I got the paraglider.

I couldn't make it work on arch linux through wine nor via the python file in the sources

Hello! First thanks for this tool!

I am not sure if porting it to GNU/linux is on the roadmap but I couldn't make it work on arch linux.

I'm using LUTRIS, and tried several runners (staging, lutris, tkg etc). It launches with lutris 6.0, but crashes midway through randomizing. Gives a corrupt graphic packs that allowed for starting the game but prevented me from using the very first pedestal in the starting cave (pressed A as requested by the prompt, where the tablet normally fits).

Is there any plan on supporting a linux version of the randomizer? Or at least provide build sources to allow us to compile on linux ? :)

P.S : here's the crash log from within wine if that is any help. EDIT: adding a txt of the backtrace copy-pasted below.

Toggles for the different randomizations

I know this is probably gonna be something implemented down the line, but being able to randomize only enemies, or only items, or only specific item pools would be great. This would also allow for options like randomizing the camp kill chests, and also for some chaos options such as randomizing koroks or randomizing the runes to be in random places (but not the paraglider for obvious reasons, until a way to remove the paraglider barrier is found via mods, unless that can already be done in which case why hasn't it been created yet).

Costumes seem to have a minor issue

Ok so I've played this for about 8 hours today, and one thing I noticed was that Helmets, torsos, and pants only came from "clothing chests" instead of any chest. Is this intentional or a bug?
