Course Scores App

A web application used to calculate course grades, built with React, Node, Express, and MySQL. Check out the deployed web app at this link: https://course-scores.netlify.app/

Project Status

This project is currently in its final stages of development and is almost complete. However, I'm currently working on implementing three important features:

• Sanitization: to make sure that the input data is properly sanitized to prevent any security issues
• Optimistic Updates: to make the user interface more responsive and provide a better user experience
• User Authentication: to ensure that only authorized users can access certain features and data

Create Table for Each Course

Create database (mySQL? or mongoDB?)

Kind of thinking maybe mySQL is more practical even though we mentioned mongo. It sounds like the our data schema might have relationships that would store better in mySQL.

Modify Component Schema

include max score attribute

Research Deployment Platforms

• Heroku, AWS, etc.

Error Handling

Validate input values, show error messages if requirements are not met

Add express.js and return 'hello world' to frontend

Acceptance criteria:

• Add express.js to project
• Add button on front end that, on click, makes a request to the API
• Setup default response for API that returns 'hello world'
• Display response on FE
