Guipher cutting off text documents containing a period alone on its own line

This actually seems like an issue of RFC 1436-noncompliant servers, because the "period on a line by itself" is not only mentioned for type 1/Gopher menu documents:

Lastline  ::= '.'CR-LF.

[...]

Menu Entity

Menu      ::= {DirEntity} Lastline.

[...]

Textfile Entity

TextFile  ::= {TextBlock} Lastline

Note:  Lines beginning with periods must be prepended with an extra
     period to ensure that the transmission is not terminated early.
     The client should strip extra periods at the beginning of the line.

Nevertheless, it's something that guipher needs to handle: a period on a line by itself can happen fairly often in text files - e.g., in files containing ed scripts (a\ntext\n.\n), or troff macros.

guipher might also be treating '.'LF as '.'CR-LF.
