The blog uses Hugo. For installation instructions follow this guide.

The repository contains:

• Customized theme with social links and static pages
• Page generated from a list of talks in config.yaml
• AMP theme, which provides fast pages from Google search

Setup

$ git clone [email protected]:mgechev/blog.mgechev.com
$ cd blog.mgechev.com
$ hugo server

Open http://localhost:1313/.

Illegible Code Snippets

The Problem

Your posts are great. But they all have a problem in common. Your code snippets are not easy to read.

The Solution

Remove the font-family fira code from your css. I've unchecked the font-family css style in inspector tools and it totally work fine. (You can see the font-family unchecked in the right for pre code styles)

Increase article's width

Inside grid.scss there's are grid, suffix, prefix mixins, which should be modified.

Migrate to Hugo

Hugo provides:

• Much faster generation
• Less obscure tooling

Does not has direct support from GitHub pages (i.e. the page cannot be build in the cloud), however, currently this may only allow me to extend the functionality of the blog since with its current deployment setup I cannot use custom plugins.

Here's a nice theme that I can fork and improve to fit my use case best.

RSS feed

Maybe I'm a bit old skool, but may I suggest adding an RSS feed?
