You can register it with:

Does it require a specific import in gradle to make the class visible ?

ProtoReflectionService.newInstance() return a BindableService so a cast seems to be required
ProtoReflectionService.newInstance() as ProtoReflectionService

I'm surprised that no more code is required.

Does the simple presence of ProtoReflectionService bean suffice and @requires ?

For posterity, the usage that worked in Kotlin was slightly different from the diff linked above:

In my src/main/kotlin/com/itx/monocle/Application.kt:

package mypkg;

import io.grpc.protobuf.services.ProtoReflectionService;
import io.micronaut.runtime.Micronaut;

fun main(args: Array<String>) {
    Micronaut.build()
        .args(*args)
        .packages("mypkg")
        .singletons(ProtoReflectionService.newInstance())
        .start()
}

and in build.gradle I added implementation("io.grpc:grpc-services:${grpcKotlinVersion}") (where my gradle.properties includes grpcKotlinVersion=0.1.2.
