The Microsoft Higher Education Accelerator is an another Industry Accelerator from Microsoft following the release of the Healthcare Accelerator earlier this summer. Industry Accelerators are foundation components within the Microsoft Power platform and Dynamics 365 that enable ISVs and other solution providers to quickly build industry vertical solutions.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Announces Industry Accelerators

Dynamics 365 announced the Microsoft Power Platform, a connected app platform that unifies access to your data to enable ISVs, SIs, Partners and Customers to build intelligent, data driven, task focused business and analytic applications. Microsoft is focused on enabling a data culture where the Microsoft Power Platform acts as the glue across Dynamics 365 (CE, F&O, Talent), Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams), Power BI, Power Apps, Microsoft Flow, Azure and other 3rd party on-premise and cloud based solutions.

With the Power Platform providing a unified approach to building data driven solutions, the team is taking it one step further by introducing Industry Solution Accelerators. Accelerators are industry focused foundational components that enable ISVs and other solution providers, a way to build solutions that are based on industry standards supported and driven by Microsoft. Along with our Health Accelerator that was released during Inspire 2018, which you can read about here, we are focused on delivering accelerators for the following industries (but not limited too):

Installation on a developer instance

Hi.

Can someone please explain how to install the accelerator on a developer instance with the developer plan.

Based on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/industry/accelerators/edu-overview, it sounds possible, but I tried and the installation simply disappear after started.

No Import Packages were found. Exiting Program - Higher Education Portal

I have successfully installed all the required deployment packages for Higher Education except for Higher Education Portal, I get "No Import Packages were found. Exiting Program" when I copy the package files for the said Module. Any assistance?

Education Accelerator can not import in D365

Portal Solution not compatible with new Power Pages datamodel

Microsoft has introduced a new version of PowerPages, using an enhanced datamodel :

For the moment, the workaround is to provision portal in the old datamodel
But this will become progressively the new standard for PowerPages.
Your solution stills relies on the legacy datamodel (eg. adx_website instead of mspp_website)

Please Update the Package Instruction Files

This is a wild goose chase:

5.2. Deploy the first package.
Deploy the package using Package Deployer by following the instructions in the Deploy packages using Package Deployer and Windows PowerShell article.

It's really frustrating because the error you get is "no import packages found" which apparently used to be solved by manipulating the file system.

I ended up executing:

• pac auth create
• pac org select
• pac package deploy -- package .\packagename

error configuring higher education portal

I followed the steps on the page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/industry/accelerators/configure-edu-accelerator to implement and configure the Dynamics Education Accelerator however when configuring the portal (post -deployment) and
Performing the step of changing the -Select Website Registration field to "Higher Education Portal (Custom)" does not give me this option.

documentation walkthrough cannot be opened

Documentation walkthrough "https://github.com/microsoft/Industry-Accelerator-Education/blob/master/documentation/EducationAccelerator.Walkthrough.Guide.docx" cannot be opened as all others can. When you attempt to open in word, it states you do not have permission which leads you to ask for permission which leads to a statement that your account cannot be found in sharepoint...

Document option sets

Could you please document global option sets? It looks like between version 4 and 5 we no longer have "gender" field and option set, for example??

Can we get the portal code/configuration files.

It will be useful for building further and in the demos as well.

Unable to create spouse connection between two contacts

When trying to create a Spouse/Partner connection between two people, so that both reference each other as Spouse/Partner, I receive the following error message:
