MB-910T00A: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (CRM)

What are we doing?

  • To support this course, we will need to make frequent updates to the course content to keep it current with the Azure services used in the course. We are publishing the lab instructions and lab files on GitHub to allow for open contributions between the course authors and MCTs to keep the content current with changes in the Azure platform.

  • We hope that this brings a sense of collaboration to the labs like we've never had before - when Azure changes and you find it first during a live delivery, go ahead and make an enhancement right in the lab source. Help your fellow MCTs.

How should I use these files relative to the released MOC files?

  • The instructor handbook and PowerPoints are still going to be your primary source for teaching the course content.

  • These files on GitHub are designed to be used in conjunction with the student handbook, but are in GitHub as a central repository so MCTs and course authors can have a shared source for the latest lab files.

  • It will be recommended that for every delivery, trainers check GitHub for any changes that may have been made to support the latest Azure services, and get the latest files for their delivery.

What about changes to the student handbook?

  • We will review the student handbook on a quarterly basis and update through the normal MOC release channels as needed.

How do I contribute?

  • Any MCT can submit a pull request to the code or content in the GitHub repro, Microsoft and the course author will triage and include content and lab code changes as needed.

  • You can submit bugs, changes, improvement and ideas. Find a new Azure feature before we have? Submit a new demo!

Notes

Classroom Materials

It is strongly recommended that MCTs and Partners access these materials and in turn, provide them separately to students. Pointing students directly to GitHub to access Lab steps as part of an ongoing class will require them to access yet another UI as part of the course, contributing to a confusing experience for the student. An explanation to the student regarding why they are receiving separate Lab instructions can highlight the nature of an always-changing cloud-based interface and platform. Microsoft Learning support for accessing files on GitHub and support for navigation of the GitHub site is limited to MCTs teaching this course only.

OLD issue - needs to be reopened -

PLEASE SEE BELOW THE DESCRIPTION OF THE OLD ISSUE AND RESPONSES.

I AM CURRENTLY TEACHING THE COURSE ON GODEPLOY AND NOTICED THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE NOT UPDATED FOR STUDENTS, SO STUDENTS CAN STILL NOT CARRY OUT THIS LAB!

when completing the work order details, please note you need values for all mandatory fields.
Also the field Taxable is not visible in the form.

Description of issue
default work order type must be set on the incident type before you can convert to a work order.

Step: 19 &20
Description of issue
the inspect system health and inspect range of motion services were not added to the work order -- i suspect the required records were not fully set up for this lab to show the requested result (there are no work order services or tasks in the system).

that's correct. I created a record from scratch for "unit overheating"? but did not know which parameters to set when creating the record -- that's probably why we are getting errors later in the lab.

chaast - did you follow the instructions in the TrainerPrepGuide?
Setup Requirements for Field Service Module

Make Sure that all Users have the Field Service App Access Security Role.
Deploy Field Service Demo Data
a. Locate the FS_Demo_Data.zip file available in the class resources.
b. Right click the FS_Demo_Data.zip file, and choose Unblock (It may not be there and that is OK)

Hi Celene, Thank you for your comment. I am grateful you were able to come back to me.

These instructions should be part of the lab set up... or at least part of the set up for the lab provider.... I cannot see anywhere within my lab environment (which is provided by Skillable) an option to access the zip file you mention.

I have read the Training File you refer to, this has a link to a demo video -- but that link does not resolve the lab problems -- the instructions in steps 6, 10, 17, 19 and 20 are not resolved.

This lab needs a revision with correct instructions - or least clarity on how to download the sample data directly into the lab environment when this is provided by Skillable.

Marketing defaults to Real-time marketing

Dynamics 365 Marketing app defaults to the Real-time marketing. The instructions need to tell students to click on the Area selector in the bottom left and choose Outbound marketing before creating the segment as real-time segments and outbound segments are different

Description of issue
This lab, along with lab 5.2, is only available in the MD format. This means that some of the instructions are not visible on the page as the format is wider than the screen size.
Please re-format these two labs as per the other labs.

Repro steps:

Lab 3.1 steps not accurate

Learning Path 3 - Module 1

Step 8 says to select Qualify but after this you are not able to complete step 9 and 10 as per the instructions. Selecting the drop down arrow next to the owner field does not show "Est. Close Date" or "Est Revenue".

Steps:

  1. On the Command bar, select the Qualify button.
  2. On the Opportunity Header at the top of the record, select the down arrow next to the Owner field.
  3. Complete as follows:
  • Est. Close Date: Two days from today
  • Est Revenue: $50,000

Out of sequence content in Module 5

  • No mention of which work order type to fill in. Only mention of primary incident type in the steps. Should the reference to "primary incident type" actually be "work order type"?

Additional errors in 5.2

  • step 6 - need to tell delegates to select the newly created work order in the view, so that the book button appears.
  • step 7 - i don't have a record for Ryan Brim to select him as the resource.. instead i took Christa Geller, but people can also book against any contact they have created themselves.
  • step 13 - tell people of "unscheduled work orders" does not appear on the bottom of the screen, they need to click on "new schedule board - on" (top right hand side of the screen).
  • step 16 - i have no resources available for this requirement - need to adjust the filters... please advise which necessary adjustments to make so that resources appear for selection.

Missing content

Description of issue
Despite no articles being shown, the instructions just have you view existing articles, but dont actually have you interact with any of them. the following steps show how to create a new one, and the lab can still be completed

Only one student can go live on marketing email
