dbeemaker's Introduction

Hello! I'm Milla. Welcome to my GitHub page.

About Me

I am a 20 year old student at the University of Maryland - College Park, born on April 30th.
I am a Computer Science and Math dual major, with a general focus in the areas of:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Game development
  • General utility and tool design

As for games, I play literally anything, for any console, including PC. However, I have a list of favorites:

  • Tetris and other block stackers
  • 4-key rhythm games (usually Etterna)
  • Freedom Planet (and any other GalaxyTrail game)
  • Anything on the Nintendo Switch

If you want to reach me, I'm usually available to chat on Discord (millabasset).

Where is Cambridge?

In an effort to promote continued development for the project, it has been moved to its own organization.
Please do not e-mail or otherwise message me for support with the project. All questions should be redirected to the Cambridge Discord.

To Employers

All my contributions to the Cambridge project are located at the repositories contained within the organization.
I believe this project to be a sufficient representation of my skills. Please e-mail me with any further questions you may have.

Thanks for visiting my page! Stay tuned for new things from me in the future.

dbeemaker's Issues

UI broken on macOS 10.15

It is known that the UI is horribly broken on macOS using the 0.2 release compiled jar file.

  • The buttons do not have their background color.
  • Some of the text is too wide.
  • The window is the wrong size.

Using a MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014. If someone could compile from source and try running the program, seeing the results, and attaching it to this issue, please let me know. I am currently unable to compile from source. Will work on later.

EDIT: Using JRE (Java Runtime Environment) 8. The binary that I used was compiled on Windows 10 under JDK 13. Running the jar file on Windows under JRE 8 has the expected results.

Better URL regex?

In line 179 of the Java code, there is a (very rough) regex expression that checks for a valid URL. If there is a better regex expression that also excludes commas so the comma check (line 182) can be eliminated, that would be appreciated. Thanks!
